The Werewolf's New House is a small blog made by Charlie Valentine about the Goosebumps series of books. The blog tends to rely on call-backs to previous reviews, renaming characters, locations, and objects, and insulting American customs like summer camps and the apparent lack of a curriculum.

It was founded back in August of 2017, and started by alternating between the Horrorland books in order and related books from the classic series.

The Werewolf's New House contains examples of:

Santa is of course mad and tells them that they will have to work 18 hour shifts every day for the next 5 years for bunking off from whatever elf work is called, since he thinks they're elves. So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybody's having fun... Also, does mean that Santa's the villain in this story?
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Oh, so many.
    • Billy Deep is a complete idiot who runs headlong into danger despite all warnings, and barely knows how to do anything.
    • Matt Daniels from Monster Blood for Breakfast is considered to be the worst of the protagonists, taking up all the limelight, being an asshole to anyone he decides to randomly push blame on to, and never receiving any comeuppance for this.
    • Julie Martin started off this way, as a photography obsessed maniac with taking pictures as her only passion, but this mellowed out over time.
    • Both Dr Maniac and The Purple Rage are Affably Evil comedy Gods.
    • Lizzie and especially Luke Morris are completely useless, never contributing anything to the team and just observing things.
    • Jonathon Chiller has no head for business, though his shop's contents are still epic.
    • Lucy Dark is a Villain Protagonist who spies on an innocent elderly man, ends up sending him to his death, and constantly abusing her little brother to the point where he's practically scared of HIMSELF.
  • Call-Back: Practically in every review; even the first one!
  • Memetic Badass: Dr Maniac and The Purple Rage.
  • Memetic Loser: While he's grown more fond of him over time, Charlie definitely portrays Billy Deep as this.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Charlie claims that the Morrises are this despite being rather famous and repeatedly used protagonist.
  • The Prankster: Commonly Lampshaded.
Except it's not Vanessa at all, it's Shari Sheena Chuck and Steve Lindy Heather Doug Ethan Luke Cole playing one of his jokes. (All the names before Cole have been crossed out)
  • Running Gag:
    • Using an image of Mayor Cravendish from Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon saying "This is illegal you know." whenever a character does something that's probably against the law.
    • Whenever the theatre is brought up, all the characters are renamed as notable characters from previous reviews.
    • In his review of How I Met My Monster, Harlan Egman is constantly given names based on puns of Dr Robotnik.
    • For a time, Power Wolf kept cropping up, but it soon faded out.
    • "Cunning plans of Baldrickian proportions" are brought up a lot whenever someone comes up with a completely ludicrous plan.
    • "Shock of all shocks, they don't believe them."
Yeah, go into the cabin of deathâ„¢ at a camp where a camper's already vanished, and it's only day 3! That seems safe!
  • The Scrappy: While bad characters are certainly not unusual for the [Goosebumps] series, Charlie has a special dislike for Matt Daniels (of Monster Blood for Breakfast), Jackson Stander (Son of Slappy) and Lucy Dark (of The Girl Who Cried Monster, although this seems to be more Played for Laughs).
    • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Julie Martin (of Say Cheese and Die Screaming)was initially mocked for her overwhelming photography obsession, though this later mellowed out as she developed some halfway-decent social relationships with The Very Special Guests.
  • Take That!: Several are present, primarily towards Tumblr and America.
  • Villain Protagonist: Lucy Dark, apparently.
