In 2022 Snider personally approved the use of the song by Ukrainians during the invasion of their country,^note Snider is of Ukrainian Jewish descent through his father's side. while at the same time voicing his objection to it being misappropriated by both far-right groups and those who dare downplay the threat of COVID-19; in response to the former, Snider tweeted: "ATTENTION QANON, MAGAT FASCISTS: Every time you sing "We're Not Gonna Take It" remember it was written by a cross-dressing, libtard, tree hugging half-Jew who HATES everything you stand for.
