  • Dee Snider's testimony before the PMRC in which he absolutely owned the entire committee with his eloquent and intelligent defense of his music, freedom of speech and the 1st Amendment, while reducing Al Gore to incoherent rage by suggesting his wife had found sado-masochistic messages in one of his songs because that was what she had been looking for. And he did the whole thing in yesterday's shirt, torn jeans, smeared eye-makeup and bed-head and possibly hung-over, as he had been performing the previous night.
Dee: And I ain't gettin' dressed up for nobody. I'm a dirtbag and I'm proud.
  • Since it's release, "We're Not Gonna Take It" has grown beyond simply being the group's Signature Song. In a 2018 interview with NPR, Dee Snider recognized that it had practically become a folk song, chanted, sung, and played, with fists raised high, as almost anyone's protest and fight song. In 2022 Snider personally approved the use of the song by Ukrainians during the invasion of their country, note  while at the same time voicing his objection to it being misappropriated by both far-right groups and those who dare downplay the threat of COVID-19; in response to the former, Snider tweeted: "ATTENTION QANON, MAGAT FASCISTS: Every time you sing "We're Not Gonna Take It" remember it was written by a cross-dressing, libtard, tree hugging half-Jew who HATES everything you stand for. It was you and people like you that inspired every angry word of that song! SO FUCK OFF!"
