** Funnily enough, there are also ''literal'' bats, the only enemy to be found in every stage, which are too slow and predictable to become this.

* DemonicSpiders: The archers in the chamber. Their arrows actually travel in an arc, which makes them difficult to dodge while climbing, while the window between shots is very short, making it strict to advance safely, and the archers themselves are often positioned in very awkward spots to target. If you die during this part of the game, chances are it will be to the archers.

** [[ShotgunsAreJustBetter The shotgun]]. It does heavy damage as long as you can connect with multiple pellets, which isn't difficult since virtually all combat in the game happens at close range; and because the bosses are so large, hitting them with ''all'' pellets isn't too difficult either. By extension, the aptly named Shotgun armor is this as well, as it makes the shotgun your default weapon (complete with the BottomlessMagazines that entails), and even its supposed drawback of increasing the amount of enemies in a stage is beneficial, because those extra enemies are easily dealt with by the shotgun itself, provide more gems and make it easier to maintain combos.

Its only real drawback is its low ammo capacity of 30. By extension, the aptly named Shotgun armor is this as well, as it makes the shotgun your default weapon (complete with BottomlessMagazines, thus fixing the BottomlessMagazines that entails), weapon's only issue), and even its supposed drawback of increasing the amount of enemies in a stage is beneficial, because those extra enemies are easily dealt with by the shotgun itself, provide more gems and make it easier to maintain combos.

* GameBreaker: The "Seeker" suit with the Piercer buff is rather nuts. The suit makes your default weapon a [[HomingProjectile homing missile]] that can pass through walls, and the buff allows these to pass through ''enemies'' as well... So you can [[MacrossMissileMassacre fill the screen with unstoppable enemy-seeking missiles]], blowing up monsters before you can even ''see'' them and making the first two boss fights very easy. Plus, the monsters' short hit-cooldown timer means that the missiles damage them '''twice''' as they pass through, making the whole thing even more broken. It can become a literal example too, as having too many projectiles on screen is a great way to lag the game.

* GoddamnedBats: The frogs in stage 1. They leap about all over the place, and it's impossible to work out if they're going to plummet off a ledge or smack into you as they do. The developers are aware of this, which is why you can purchase a suit which has the specific power of [[LampshadeHanging removing all frogs from the game]] while equipped.
