Per TRS, this is YMMV

Added DiffLines:

* DifficultySpike: Losing a party member does not necessarily stop you from completing the game... but it will make item puzzles far more difficult thanks to a shortage of item slots... [[spoiler: and completely {{Unwinnable}} if you're down to one before the FinalBoss, since you need four slots' worth of plot items to take it down.]]

* AdaptationDisplacement: [[http://www.glitterberri.com/developer-interviews/tokuro-fujiwara/ The Famicom game ended up being more popular than the film, to the point that the original filmmaker commended the developers for making the game scarier than the movie.]]
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsUdzKuXMFg&list=HL1382178703 Battle Theme]].
* GoodBadBugs: Encountered by LetsPlay/DeceasedCrab during his LetsPlay, when [[spoiler: he flees the boulder and the wood breaks, causing his middle team member to hang for her life and stranding all three. The rock goes over Emi and vanishes without triggering the usual instant death]].
* {{Narm}}: [[spoiler: The best ending. In which the person interviewing the crew [[AndThenJohnWasAZombie suddenly turns into a monster]]. While clearly intended to be terrifying, it comes off as hilarious due to its random nature and how [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment the game immediately ends afterwards]].]]
* SugarWiki/NoProblemWithLicensedGames: Both the movie and the game are considered to be very good. In fact, the game is often considered to be ''better'' than the movie.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: Thanks to the 8-bit sprites, with Akiko wearing a flat medical coat and Asuka wearing some sort of blue cape thing, both can be mistaken for males. The main clues otherwise are the gender-divided Really Dead Cutscenes and [[spoiler: the portraits of their doppelgangers seen in the final area]].
