** ComicBook/NormanOsborn himself, [[ComicBook/TheNightGwenStacyDied murderer of Gwen Stacy]] and with all his evil deeds from the original continuity before his death, whose spirit lays dormant within Peter, is revealed to have cloned May Parker and raised either the original May or the clone as a weapon. Returning in Peter's body, he intends to snuff out Peter's heroic spirit and gain his revenge by murdering the Parkers. Gleefully attempting to kill May and all her friends, Norman takes Mary Jane and her [[WouldHurtAChild baby son Benjy]] to the spot where Gwen Stacy died, intending to hurl them to their deaths to traumatize Peter even more. Styling himself the Goblin God and willing to murder anyone in his path, and with the same legacy of death and destruction behind him, Norman shows against why he is Peter's most despicable nemesis, who will not spare even his own grandson should he stand in Norman's way.

* FirstInstallmentWins: While there have been many takes on Peter and MJ's kids in the years since Spider-Girl's release, Mayday, the first interpretation of Peter and MJ's kid, remains the most well known and popular amongst fans, largely thanks to being the most fleshed out of the bunch.

** Launched as part of an [[ComicBook/MarvelComics2 a verse]] [[LighterAndSofter for kids]], the series is also popular with older Franchise/SpiderMan fans, especially after ''ComicBook/OneMoreDay''. The {{Mythology Gag}}s don't hurt either.

renamed to Clone Angst

** April Parker. The Parkers (and May's friends) don't like her because she's an [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling annoying]] [[CloningBlues clone]] with [[DarkActionGirl violent tendencies]]… but she [[RaisedByWolves doesn't know any better yet]]. The moment she told Peter she liked him better [[PeoplePuppets as Norman]] was heartbreaking.

** Fury, who gets [[NotSoHarmlessVillain more dangerous with every appearance]]. First she [[ForcedTransformation forces]] [[BodyHorror the Venom symbiote on to Normie]]. Then she starts killing her way through the EvilPowerVacuum in the Goblin cult. Finally, she [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness disposes of Norman's daughter "Gwen Reilly"]] and kidnaps Simone and April, [[MoreThanMindControl manipulating the latter into trying to murder Mayday]]. Oh, and she [[WouldHurtAChild threatens to kill Benjy]].

* FandomRivalry: As explained above, Mayday Parker fans developed this with fans of ''[[Characters/MarvelComicsSpiders Anya Corazon]]'' due to Anya being given the mantle of Spider-Girl in the main continuity not long after Mayday's book got permanently canceled. There was a [[FanMyopia misconception]] the Anya "stole" the title from Mayday and that, along with the One More Day retcon of the marriage between Peter and Mary Jane were the contributing factors to Mayday being unfairly disenfranchised.

Added YMMV for later issues (Fury and April), more Ensemble Darkhorse and ship stuff, as well as clarified a few entries (ex: changing Maurice to Moose since he's mostly referred to by his nickname).

to:

%%* EnsembleDarkhorse: Maurice** [[HoYay Darkdevil/Doc Magus]] is also popular due to their team-up during the Venom arc, where Magus [[SecretKeeper almost figured out Reilly's secret]] in between their [[SnarkToSnarkCombat snarking]]. The BridalCarry at the end helps.
* EnsembleDarkhorse
** Maurice "Moose" Mansfield, once CharacterDevelopment kicks in and his crush on Courtney helps him turn into a LovableJock instead of a JerkJock.
** April has also been VindicatedByHistory amongst newer fans now that her HeelFaceTurn has completed. A common FandomSpecificPlot is [[spoiler: undoing her [[RedemptionEqualsDeath death in Spider-Girl: The End]]]].
** Many fans also wish [[InvisibleIntrovert Meagyn Brady]] would join May's friend group.

%%** Maurice.
** The Venom symbiote. It's host Eddie Brock dies in prison, staying alone in a tube for around 10 years while being mocked by a guard with no one to comfort it until Normie Osborn has pity of it, it's later revealed by Mayday that the reason why the Venom symbiote attacked people is because it knew nothing but pain and anger because of the treatment of its previous Host, Peter Parker and Eddie Brock, and does a final sacrifice to protect Mayday from the Hobgoblin, causing its death.

Moving to Trivia

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Following the controversial [[spoiler:death of [[ComicBook/MarvelComics2 MC2]] Peter Parker and the emergence of Mayday's angst-ridden vengeful attitude]] in ''ComicBook/SpiderVerse'', long-time artist Ron Frenz made his feelings known in an interview, pointing out character and continuity inconsistencies. When the time came to collaborate on a short story involving Mayday with Tom Defalco for the Spider-Verse tie-ins, he and Tom left several clues that indicated this might not necessarily be the Mayday fans had enjoyed reading from 1998-2010, but an entirely different alternate version. ''ComicBook/SpiderGeddon'' later revealed that [[spoiler:those characters were actually from this continuity, but they resurrected this version of Spider-Man]].
** In November 2022, when Mayday was given a brand new story as part of the ''Marvel Infinity: Spider-Verse'' online series, they revealed Mayday had even gone back to her original Spider-Girl codename and grown her hair long again to reflect her appearance from her 2006-2010 era, there is also a slight age-up of her little brother Benjy so he can now talk to Mayday, and the [[spoiler: resurrected Peter has successfully reconnected with his family and is enjoying evenings out with Mary Jane while Mayday babysits Benjy]]
