* TheWoobie: Skid is a small child whose PlotArmor was brutally ripped away from him, watching his best friend get turned into a hollow shell while he was helpless to stop it, before getting thrust into a battle with someone who wanted to inflict the same fate onto him -- and despite his best efforts, they succeeded. His mounting terror as he tries and fails to beat Boyfriend is heartbreaking to watch.

** Though Week 11 [[spoiler: was a short week, it makes up for it greatly with the many animated cutscenes included in the battle against the Tank Amalgam. The Tank Amalgam is given two angles to demonstrate his large size and to increase the intimidation he poses to Boyfriend, Pico, and Girlfriend. * UnexpectedCharacter: For many viewers, [[spoiler: Tankman making an appearance in his corrupt state in ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkinCorruption'' came a surprise for them. It's been believed that Tankman wasn't going to be in this mod, since a majority of the victims had been corrupted and Daddy Dearest was supposedly the FinalBoss for the Corruption. It isn't until "Brainstorm", where he was teased to appear in Week 11 is when people became shocked at Tankman's arrival for this mod.]]

Added examples.

Added DiffLines:

* FauxSymbolism: [[spoiler: During "Hivemind", the Tank Amalgam spouts out many Bible quotes that originate from the book of Revelation. The quotes the Tank Amalgam says are used to declare his high status as a god and his invincibility towards Boyfriend, Pico, and Girlfriend. Despite what Tankman says, the mod itself doesn't have any themes relating to religion and his so-called title as Alpha and Omega doesn't mean much in the long run, since he is only a BigBadWannabe that fails to the threat of the Harvester.]]

** [[spoiler: "NO WAY TANKMAN BECAME WITHERED BONNIE"]][[labelnote:Explanation]]Leading up to the premiere of Week 11, one [=YouTube=] commentator joked about the similarities of one of the dead Tankmen to [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2 Withered Bonnie]], with those in the replies getting in on the joke with the character's iconic "face" puns.[[/labelnote]]

* CommonCrossover: A popular trend is taking characters from other ''Friday Night Funkin[='=]'' mods, such as the ''[[VideoGame/FridayNightFunkinMinus Minus]]'' cast or [[VideoGame/VsWhitty Whitty]], and giving them corrupted designs or depicting them squaring off against corrupted characters. WordOfGod even confirms that one of the corrupted characters in the background of "Deathmatch" is Whitty.

Moved Fridge examples to a page.

* FridgeBrilliance:
** For "Philly (Kamex Remix)", Pico is taking the lead of the song by being its main singer, while Boyfriend, partially uncorrupted, has fewer moments where he has to sing. This could be because Pico is having the advantage over the Corruption, thereby making him the lead singer to uncorrupt Boyfriend.
** The note chart for Skid and Pump's final song, "Chiller", is surprisingly easy, especially compared to the more hectic and note-dense chart for "Sanguine South". However, given that Pump is already fully corrupted and Skid has little if any control over his body, it's easy to infer that Boyfriend was deliberately given an easier time so he would win, making Skid corrupt completely.
** Why do Corrupted BF and the other corrupted characters get the lead turns throughout Deathmatch? Normally in FNF and its mods, the opponent gets the lead turns, and you're playing as the hero trying to fight them. But here, Daddy Dearest is the only hero left, and you, as the player, [[VillainProtagonist are playing as a whole host of bad guys.]] Of course you're gonna get the first turn from the get-go.
** Why are Week 8's videos called "Evil BF vs Boyfriend" even though Boyfriend [[spoiler:never actually faces off with his corrupted counterpart?]] Because it's Boyfriend (I.e. BF himself and [[spoiler:Soul Boyfriend]]) fighting the Corruption that calls itself Evil BF from within.
** "MEMORY//LEAK" shows that Boyfriend isn't exactly the FearlessFool we know him as, but rather that he stays positive in even the darkest of moments in life. [[spoiler:The bright and cheerful scenery seen there is effectively what he envisions whenever he takes on the challenges presented before him]].
** "Yandere Attack" seems like the odd one out when compared to "Allure" and "Estranged", [[spoiler:with Boyfriend leading most of the song and the corruption only following along. However, now that Boyfriend has seen through its illusions, nothing can stop him; the corruption ''knows'' this, with its remaining efforts amounting to little but delaying the inevitable.]]
* FridgeHorror:
** Corrupted Pico's gun is coated in blood... [[BetterToDieThanBeKilled and so is the side of his head that's closest to it.]] His left note animation was also changed to make him point the gun towards his head. Made worse when you realize that means [[BreakTheCutie Skid]]'s bloody right temple wasn't just for show.
** Consider that the events of the mod only happen because Girlfriend's parents rope Boyfriend into a rap battle at the mall. Now consider that Mommy Mearest knowingly endangers herself trying to save someone she has no attachment towards, or Daddy Dearest fighting Boyfriend even though Girlfriend isn't there. This wouldn't have happened had they simply let their daughter be, [[ItsAllMyFault and they know it]].
** Skid and Pump's corruption is already terrifying and heartbreaking enough, but then one remembers they have families in [[WebAnimation/SpookyMonth their home series]], ones who have no idea what happened to the two and would likely not realize it until it was far too late to do anything about it.
** When Skid and Pump [[BackForTheFinale come back for "Deathmatch"]], Skid is shown fully corrupted. However, unlike Pump, who has rather animated facial expressions, Skid's face is completely frozen in his expression. Looks like [[{{Determinator}} resisting the corruption]] far longer than his pal has [[AndIMustScream cost him dearly]].
** Week 8 has [[spoiler:Boyfriend battling against the corruption inside his body in a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind thanks to his HeroicWillpower; however, that brings the possibility that the rest of the corrupted cast have been through the same scenario... ''and failed'']].
** With Week 9's reveal that the Corruption can create illusions to fool its' victims, this brings forth the possibility that [[spoiler:like Girlfriend, Mommy Mearest made an illusion to subdue Daddy Dearest]], but unlike Boyfriend, Daddy Dearest wasn't able to see through it, driving him over the edge and leading to his corruption.
*** When looking back at Week 3 and Week 4, the Corruption's illusions can be HarsherInHindsight, as it gives the idea that Mommy Mearest and Pico were both fooled into thinking they could save their corrupted opponents.
** In Week 10, [[spoiler:most of the corrupted Tankmen hoard are visibly dead, with skeletal hands and exposed brains, likely following Pico trashing the majority of them in the base game's Week 7. That gives off the worrying implications that not even death can save someone from the Corruption, and that it can just make its job a lot easier.]]

Created a Nightmare Fuel page.

* NightmareFuel:
** The very premise of the mod is that [[TheCorruption a malignant and twisted corruption]] possesses everyone it can get its hands on, if not [[spoiler:[[CessationOfExistence outright killing them]] like with Senpai and Spirit]], in order to TakeOverTheWorld in a ZombieApocalypse scenario. Each and every character is shown fighting, struggling, and ultimately ''losing'' as the Corruption takes hold, showcasing it as a terrifying nigh-unstoppable force.
** To express the fact that Spirit is well and truly pissed, his expression was changed from his normal sullen appearance to one with bulging eyes and a smile so wide it goes across his form, making Monster and Boyfriend's {{Slasher Smile}}s look like quaint smirks. Further exacerbating it are multiple moments during "Treacherous Thorns" where Spirit suddenly appears, [[JumpScare catching those who weren't expecting it off guard]].
** A hidden log can be found in the Week 6 demo, encrypted in [=Base64=]. [[spoiler:Once decrypted, it is very heavily implied to be the last writings of a mother pleading to her soon-to-be-ex-husband for help as someone she presumes to be a drunkard stalks them and drives them into a war of attrition, unaware that it is in fact the Corruption coming for her and her children]].
** In the beginning of Week 9, [[spoiler:the corrupted Girlfriend seems to be grabbing at her face, before [[NeckSnap snapping her own neck]] with a loud crunch and sickening scream.]]
