* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: A number of complaints levied at the game, besides the graphical situation, is the changes to the gameplay that have either significantly revamped or removed various features. Examples include: The Mastery System no longer awarded weapon skills, the Reincarnation system now requiring hundreds of reincarnations to get the full use of, the Juice Bar (which is how a lot of upgrades are purchased for your character and how you improve the Squad Shop), the XP Share-style leveling system which awards a bunch of XP to every unit that participated at the end of the round (even if they died), and others. Some of this is not explicitly seen as a bad thing, and has even found supporters, but these aspects get brought up frequently in complaints.

* ThatOneAchievement: Completing all of the d-merits for even one character. Most of them aren't terribly difficult to achieve, especially once you get to post-game and your combat ability explodes, but by far the most tedious to complete is the "Defeat X amount of enemies" line, which requires a single character to defeat 100,000 enemies. Needless to say, even at max speed with all the attack animations turned off this will take hours to complete. And if you want to max out he evility

Speaking from experience, even at skill level 9999 Elemental Burst all on its own is not strong enough to even remotely recoup the cost with Magic Collection.

* GameBreaker: The Witch's Elemental Burst special consumes all of her SP in exchange for a devastatingly powerful blow. It's meant to be a risky all-or-nothing attack that leaves her exposed if it doesn't kill her target. However, Elemental Burst's SP cost is fixed - it will never cost more or less than the Witch's max SP. Unlike every other attack in the game, its cost does not increase when upgraded, meaning you can level this sucker all the way up to the range where it will smack something for quintillions of damage without needing to increase your max SP just to cast it. With this much damage on your side, you can kill just about ''anything'', and because of how much damage you'll be doing, the Magic Collection evility will make the move ''self-refunding'', meaning it effectively has no drawbacks.

With this much damage on the right combination of evilities to max out your side, attack power, you can kill just about ''anything'', ''anything'' (including the game's ultimate superboss Baal on Rakshasa difficulty), and because of how much damage you'll be doing, the Magic Collection evility evility, which refunds 5% of the damage inflicted as SP, will make the move ''self-refunding'', meaning it effectively has no drawbacks.

Broken Base entries are added after six months have passed.

* BrokenBase: ''Disgaea 6'' making the VideoGame3DLeap has been met with some mixed reception, as all past entries in the series were always in 2D. While some people prefer the original 2D sprite graphics and dislike the change, others believe that the new 3D models look fine and don't mind.

I feel like Broken Base is more applicable regarding the 3D graphics.

Edited because the entry sounded too much like an base breaker entry.

** Unsurprisingly, the reaction to ''Disgaea 6'' making the VideoGame3DLeap was mixed. While some fans like that the polygon models maintain Takehito Harada's style, others feel that they look cheap, comparing them to various mobile games.
** Connected to the VideoGame3DLeap is the decision to make the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch version a console exclusive in the West, unlike the Japanese version which will have a UsefulNotes/Playstation4 release as well. While fans feel that it makes sense due to the Switch port of ''VideoGame/Disgaea5AllianceOfVengeance'' selling very well and find that the ''Disgaea'' games are better portable, some fear that the Switch version might not be optimized well due to the hardware being not as powerful as the [=PS4=].
