** Celebi. Her craziness is [[IncrediblyLamePun Legendary]]. One scene has her bringing a tree to life and having it kick the crap out of a Steelix!

* EvilIsSexy: The female members of Team Vortex.

* SurprisinglyCreepyMoment: Granted, when she started, the author warned about Anonimo's infamous abuse. But other than that, it seemed like the series would go the normal Pokémon way, being a story about a Cyndaquil and her trainer learning to get along, battle in Gyms, compete in the Pokémon League, etc. However, she never warned about [[spoiler:Blue Fire Frenzy]], Team Vortex, and the Malonix with all the ridiculously creepy problems that came with it, like turning Pokémon AxeCrazy, whether their virus or whatnot is given to them by way of bite, scientific experimentation, or mating.

** One scene had Taylor remind Joey of a NoodleIncident involving a Jigglypuff. [[spoiler:Joey's brother Willie is later ''stabbed'' by Belico the sword-wielding Jigglypuff]].

* HarsherInHindsight: [[spoiler:In one scene, Canela says some unnecessarily mean comments about Cindy's LoveInterest, even so much as to bring up the scenario of him getting bitten by a Malonix. A few dozen chapters later, ''it happens.'']]

* TastesLikeDiabetes: ''Freaking baby Pokémon!''

* WhatAnIdiot: Emma, [[spoiler:punching Blaze in Blue Fire Frenzy during a window in which we can reason with him]] is a very, very stupid idea. Cindy was right in calling you an idiot.
** From early in the story: [[SarcasmMode Yeah, sure, giving a hostile Pokemon to a ten-year-old beginning trainer is a wonderful idea!]]
