This is the last LEGO movie to be produced by Warner Bros, as the license was dropped in 2019. Universal has picked up the rights since then.

The movie seems to end on a low note, with Rex Dangervest revealing himself as an embittered future version of Emmet who tricks him into starting the Armageddon but then strands him on Undar of the Dryar. Meanwhile, the Systarians and all of Emmet's friends are trapped in the Bin of Storage, unable to help. ** Rex Dangervest is a CompositeCharacter of [[Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy Star-Lord]], [[Film/JurassicWorld Owen Grady]] and [[Film/TheMagnificentSeven2016 Josh Faraday]]. With Emmet being similar to [[Series/ParksAndRecreation Andy Dwyer]], Creator/ChrisPratt is essentially reprising all four of his most well-known live-action roles.

* CastingGag: In addition to Emmet, Chris Pratt plays Rex Dangervest, a [[Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy galaxy-saving]] [[Film/JurassicWorld raptor trainer]].

''The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part'' is a 2019 CGI animated space action comedy. It is the sequel to 2014's ''WesternAnimation/TheLegoMovie'', with Creator/PhilLordAndChrisMiller again writing the script (along with Creator/RaphaelBobWaksberg) and Mike Mitchell of ''WesternAnimation/{{Trolls}}'' and ''Film/{{Sky High|2005}}'' fame taking the director's chair.

* BrokenAesop: [[spoiler: "Brute force and a gritty image aren't everything." Is supposedly what the Systarians are trying to teach the Apocalypseburgers. Problem is, the Systarians use nothing ''but'' brute force and imposing appearances when interacting with them and not only trump them in almost every fight, but in the end are even successful in getting them to form an alliance. General Mayhem tries to justify this by claiming they were just imitating the Apocalypseburgers' BlueAndOrangeMorality in hopes of being understood better, but the Apocalypseburgers were clearly terrified of them ''because'' of this and they somehow failed to pick up on that.]]

* VengefulAbandonedToy: Rex Dangervest [[spoiler:turns out to be a version of Emmet from an alternate timeline where he failed to make it through the Stairgate and]] got stranded in Undar of the Dryar System (under the dryer in the basement). Upset that nobody bothered to rescue him, he [[spoiler:eventually got tired of waiting and became sentient through his own anger. He cobbled together a time machine from other time machines and went back to save his past self from getting stranded, trick him into kickstarting Armamageddon, and launch him in Undar of the Dryar to maintain his existence]].

* UpToEleven:
** When Emmet and Rex start their search in the Systar System, the latter sets his ship's systems to eleven, and then ''doubles'' it.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: When the Master Builders fire a missile at the biggest Duplo alien machine, the machine just takes the missile and fires it back at them.

* NoSell: When Batman’s machine fires missiles at the Duplo alien’s main machine and the missiles just keep bouncing off.

* WasActuallyFriendly: It turns out that [[spoiler:the Duplo aliens, General Mayhem, Queen Watevra, and every other member of the Systar system were actually just trying to become friends with the Bricksburg citizens. Watevra's SuspiciouslySpecificDenial about not being evil is ''genuine,'' and her wedding to Batman is an effort to ''prevent'' Armamageddon, not bring it on]].

* AscendedMeme: After years of how memetic [[https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-hope-you-step-on-a-lego the pain of stepping on LEGO bricks]], the movie finally has someone actually stepping on one. [[spoiler: Finn and Bianca's mom. She does this TWICE. She compares it to the pain of childbirth]].
