* HeroesFightBarehanded: Zigzagged in Episode 4; Mario initially tries to fight Typhoon with his [[DropTheHammer hammer]], but when Typhoon, citing his belief in a fair fight, [[GiveMeASword gives Mario a Wing Cap]] to even things out, Mario, after accepting the cap, tosses said hammer aside and takes on Typhoon with his bare fists.

* FiveManBand: While not five people, the group that liberates Peach's Castle in Episode 2 fit the bill:

** In Episode 4, the Element Knights capture and take all the heroes (except Kirby) to Bowser's Castle so the villains can move their plans along without interference.

** In Episode 7, both Lucas and Kumatora get abducted by Star Wolf due to the latter needing the two psychics for the villains' new plan.

* BadassInDistress: In Episode 5, Mario, Link, and Mr. Game & Watch get taken as hostages by the Koopalings to be delivered to the villains.

* BoundandGagged: This happens to Mario and Link; Mr. Game & Watch, on the other hand, is simply tied up. See Badass in Distress above.

* LetsYouAndHimFight: Due to Erpain's natural instincts, he ends up fighting the Pokemon, and later Yoshi, until Boomer stops him.

** In episode 3, Yoshi shows up to stop Erpain from eating Pikachu.
** In episdoe 4, Kirby pulls off ''2''. First, he arrives and frees the heroes, then stops an enraged Hydro Knight from killing Snake, with his presence exposing the villains true colors to the Knights.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: When Samus is about to cuss out Ridley in episode 4, Sonic promptly cuts her off, reminding her that it's "a PG-rated show."

* ThisIsADrill: Erpain morphs his left hand into a drill while fighting Yoshi in episode 3.
