!!Tropes:

* AbusiveParents: The Dursleys, although more so in the sequel, Chamber Pot of Secrets.
** Mrs. Weasley is this to Ron and only Ron. Ron is too stupid to notice.
* ActorAllusion: Cedward Dullen.
* ActingForTwo: Three guys do the voices for the entire cast.
* AllThereInTheManual: Certain original characters' names are given in the credits.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: (In universe) Harry is horrified by the existence of magic, Ron is a complete and total moron, and Dumbledore is some kind of malevolent puppetmaster, just to name a few.
* AuthorAppeal: There are numerous references to ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'', ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'', ''Franchise/YuGiOh'', ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'', ''Theatre/AVeryPotterMusical'', and ''Franchise/SpyroTheDragon''.
* BedmateReveal: Harry assumes he just dreamed he went to Hogwarts until he notices Ron in the bed.
* BestialityIsDepraved: Professor [=McGonagall=] mated with Crookshanks in cat form, and gave birth to half-cat half-human babies.
* BlackComedy: Mostly at the expense of Hufflepuffs. They get killed constantly and nobody bats an eyelash.
* BoardingSchoolOfHorrors: Hogwarts.
-->'''Harry:''' Isn't that potentially dangerous?\\
'''Percy:''' What's your point?\\
'''Harry:''' But Dumbledore said this was the safest place on earth!\\
'''Percy:''' Yeah, well Dumbledore says a lot of things.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Invoked by Harry whenever the Basilisk convinces him to "petrify" students.
* ButtMonkey: Neville, and occasionally Harry.
* CanisLatinicus: Flamethrowericus.
* CassandraTruth: An interesting inversion when Harry calls the police for help. Rather than try to tell the 911 operator about the "magic" or anything, he just explains that his aunt and uncle are abusing him, managing to sound completely realistic. [[PoliceAreUseless Of course, the operator still doesn't believe him]].
* CatchPhrase: "Because it's magic, Harry!" Especially in Episode 3.
* ConvenientlyAnOrphan: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Dumbledore:
-->'''Professor [=McGonagall=]:''' You mean their son's an orphan?!\\
'''Dumbledore:''' Yes, ''just like every other main character from every other fantasy series ever''!
* CompositeCharacter: William Charles Weasley, who goes by both "Bill" and "Charlie."
* CrapsackWorld: Both the Wizarding and the Muggle worlds.
* ChristmasEpisode: Episode 9, although the episode wasn't really posted around Christmas and was mostly just parodying the Christmas part in the book.
** Played straight in "It's a Magical Life"
* CurseCutShort: When a Blast-Ended Skrewt kills a student, and at the end of the ChristmasEpisode.
* DaydreamSurprise: [[spoiler: The opening joke of Chamber Pot of Secrets episode 5.]]
* DeathIsCheap: In this version of the Potterverse, getting killed is nothing more than a good sign that you'll be [[spoiler: resurrected by and join Professor Squirrel's team.]]
* DeadPetSketch: A bit of a subversion in that [[spoiler: Harry kills Scabbars but tells Ron it was Crookshanks, rather than pretending Scabbars is still alive. Also it was heavily implied the rat had been dead for years. Harry just disposed of the corpse because it was rotting too much. The next episode has Harry finding a "replacement" Scabbars, which Future!Harry already confirmed to be Peter Pettigrew.]]
* DeathByAdaptation: [[spoiler:Winky]] Since she was cut out of the movie.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: The Elephant Outmaneuver Maneuver.
* DeusExMachina: Lampshaded three times, with Harry's power to defeat Quirrel, the Poenix saving Harry from the Baskilisk, and Future!Harry saving himself from the dementors.
* TheDitz: Ron.
* DoesNotUnderstandSarcasm: When Ron receives a letter:
-->'''Ron:''' Hey, Harry, guess what this is?\\
'''Harry:''' A porcupine in a sweater.\\
'''Ron:''' No, silly, it's a letter for me!
* EvilPlan: Voldemort has had a few, ranging from throwing Harry off of his broomstick while he's playing Quidditch (which was seriously from the original book. What the heck?!) to sneak attacking him from a distance. Harry [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] the lameness of the latter plan in episode 15.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption[=/=]YouCantFightFate: Future!Harry attempts to use the Time-Turner to warn his past self about Scabbars, even going as far as to yell "Scabbars is Peter Pettigrew!" at him, but Present!Harry doesn't think anything of it, assuming it's just [[AWizardDidIt some weird magical]] thing as usual.
* FalseDichotomy: Harry asks if Cho if she is a Gryffindor or Slytherin. He doesn't take [[HufflepuffHouse Ravenclaw]] for an answer.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Voldemort seems like a pretty nice guy once you look past the fact that he's an [[CatchPhrase insane mass murderer]].
* FunnySchizophrenia: The fact that only Harry can hear the Basalisk's voice is treated like this.
* FunWithAcronyms: SPEW is called the "Students Protecting Elven Rights Movement."
* GilliganCut: Harry predicts this will happen if he tries to protest the convoluted Polyjuice Potion plan. [[spoiler: It does.]]
* GoodAngelBadAngel: Harry has two devils.
* HurricaneOfEuphemisms: Dumbledore's description of his pet phoenix is just one long DoubleEntendre.
* HypocriticalHumor: The ''[[Literature/PercyJacksonAndTheOlympians Percy Jackson]]'' parody explains that plagiarism is wrong using a [[WebVideo/PotterPuppetPals puppet version of Harry]].
* ImAHumanitarian: Hagrid, being a half giant.
* IncrediblyLamePun: When Harry learns that he can speak to Ekans, Ron suggests that he may be a Pokétounge, complete with {{Rimshot}}.
* InvisibleAnatomy: Specifically, PowerpuffGirlHands and triangular bodies instead of legs. When the default arm size isn't long enough to reach something, characters' arms can "detach" and become RaymanianLimbs. Lastly, characters can [[SuddenAnatomy grow fingers]] whenever they need to make hand gestures.
* ItsAWonderfulPlot: Inverted in the Christmas Special. [[spoiler: Harry's presence actually makes things worse.]]
* ItsQuietTooQuiet: Spoken by Ron during a scene that introduces Dementors as cheesy, horror-movie-style monsters.
* KillerRabbit: [[spoiler: Professor Squirrel]]
* LargeHam: Dumbledore.
* LarynxDissonance: All voice actors are male. This trope is especially noticed with Hermione.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Both Cedward and the Prime Minister have one.
** And now, Lucius has one.
* LesYay: Between Professor [=McGonagall=] and Mrs. Norris. [[CrackPairing No, really]].
* LetsMeetTheMeat: Magic Bananas really want to get eaten.
* MeaningfulName: Lampshaded with Sirius, Lupin, and Professor Sprout. Harry wonders if their parents knew what would happen to them. He later asks [[spoiler:Peter Pettigrew if Peter was latin for rat]]
** Also, Mrs. Rainy the meteorologist. Plus the House-Elves in the kitchen (named [[Disney/SnowWhite Seven Dwarfs]] style).
* MoodWhiplash: Cuts from a funeral with My Immortal playing in the background to a ''WebAnimation/LlamasWithHats'' parody.
* MostDefinitelyNotAVillain: Quirrell, who is passing himself off as a ventriloquist, apparently.
* NeverSayDie: Parodied and inverted in that [[spoiler: while characters ''can'' die, everybody seems to believe that they have been expelled. Everybody except [[StraightMan Harry]], that is]].
* NoIndoorVoice: Ron, which gets in the way when they're trying to be sneaky in episode 12.
* NoSuchThingAsWizardJesus: Averted in the Christmas Special, in which Ron states that Jesus was a normal wizard, to the shock of Harry, Hermione, and [[spoiler: Aberforth]] Dumbledore. Harry claims that Ron offended everyone, ''not just Christians'', ''everyone''.
* NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer: Invoked at least twice. Once when the Chamber of Secrets opens for random sounds (like in Deathly Hallows) and once when Ron thinks the sleeping Lupin might be dead (in the parallel scene from Prisoner of Azkaban).
* NoodleIncident: Getting past Fluffy (twice!) and the "forcefield rule" are never explained or mentioned again.
* OncePerEpisode: Ron asks Harry if he's enjoying his breakfast.
** And in Chamber Pot of Secrets we have Ron singing only to be interrupted by Harry saying "Stop singing," to which Ron immediately replies "Can I hum it?"
*** And Dumbledore coming out of strange hiding places.
* OneOfUs: The IdiotBall and VillainBall are actual items which make the person holding them stupid and villainous respectively.
* OnlySaneMan: Harry is one in this story.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: Happens when Ron takes offense at Malfoy calling Hermione a Mudblood in Chamber Pot episode 6, which would be in-character in the original book, but Ron acts completely different in the parody. This is immediately lampshaded.
* OverlyLongGag: In Prisoner of Azkatraz, every time someone says "Sirius Black," [[Phantom of the Opera]] music plays. Lampshaded by Harry in the last episode, where he gets fed up with it.
* PaperThinDisguise: Harry and Ron's Polyjuice Potion disguises.
* ParodyEpisode: Episode 11, in which Harry visits [[WebAnimation/CharlieTheUnicorn Candy Mountain]].
* PerpetualFrowner: Neville.
* PerpetualSmiler: Lockhart, Cedward and Ron.
* PrecisionFStrike: Rita Skeeter interviewing Harry:
-->'''Rita:''' Mr. Potty, what's your take on today's events?\\
'''Harry:''' Go f*ck yourself.\\
'''Rita:''' ...Okay. Let's hear from another student.
* PutOnABus: Ginny was arrested and sent to Azkatraz for opening the Chamber of Secrets and Dumbledore ran out of Mandrake juice before Colin could be un-petrified.
* ReedRichardsIsUseless: For unexplained reasons, Mrs. Weasley can't repair a broken window with magic.
* RefugeInAudacity: This exchange in particular:
-->'''Doctor:''' Headmaster, there's been a Transfiguration accident. We have another 500 students injured.\\
'''Dumbledore:''' Eh, the Hospital Wing's full; just dump 'em in the lake.\\
'''Doctor:''' The lake is also full, sir.\\
'''Dumbledore:''' *indignant* Is the giant squid not hungry?!
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: [[spoiler: The Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers.]] Also implied for other Hogwarts staff, the Muggles/copy-paste Hogwarts students, and Harry.
* SadistTeacher: Snape, who actually dangles Harry over a boiling cauldron with a rope. Dumbledore comes into the room and, of course, notices nothing out of place.
* SchoolUniformsAreTheNewBlack: Regardless of whether or not they're in class, students perpetually wear these, even to ''bed at night''. The only exception is when they're outside of Hogwarts.
* SdrawkcabName: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] with the Mirror of Desire Backwards.
* SelfDeprecation: The characters frequently make cracks about how their series is so obscure and more people watch {{Potter Puppet Pals}}.
* ShoutOut: To Dan Bergstein's ''Blog/BloggingTwilight'' after the credits of a recent episode, complete with jetpacking werewolf.
** The third has quite a few to {{A Very Potter Musical}}
* SoulJar: Tom Riddle's Diary, like in the book. [[spoiler: Apparently Quirrel has one as well]]
** [[spoiler: Quirrel's is a literal jar.]]
* SoundEffectBleep: Upon seeing Mrs. Norris and the writing on the wall, Dumbledore yells, "Holy **** **** **** on a blueberry bagel!"
* StayingAlive: [[spoiler: Ron, Hermione, Neville, Snape and Draco Malfoy are all killed towards the end of the series, then reappear in the last episode. Naturally, no explanation is ever given.]]
* SureLetsGoWithThat: Voldemort takes credit for putting the [[FunnySchizophrenia voice in Harry's head]].
** Sirius Black claims to realize [[spoiler:that Scabbers is Peter Pettigrew, and was trying to kill him, ''not'' Harry.]]
* TakeThat: Several to ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' and Creator/StephenieMeyer. A few to ''Harry Potter'' itself.
* TwinkleSmile: Both Lockhart's and Cedward's smiles makes triangle ding sounds.
* UncannyFamilyResemblance: Everyone in the Dumbledore family so far looks identical.
** Also applies to Harry, Voldemort, and Ron's parents.
* WeAllLiveInAmerica: Parodied with the Prime Minister. Every time he speaks, the US presidential anthem plays.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: The scene where Ginny steals Tom Riddle's diary back from Harry was cut, so it looks like it was just forgotten about. This is immediately lampshaded once it becomes important.
* WhiteVoidRoom: One serves as the entrance to Dumbledore's office. The only feature is a door.
* AWizardDidIt: "Because it's magic, Harry!" is the default explanation to everything (although in retrospect that's not actually too different from the original books).
* TheWoobie: Billy the Dementer.
* YouALLLookFamiliar: Essentially all background characters (especially students, even if they had names in the original books) look exactly the same. The best example is the Quidditch team, where even though all members of the Gryffindor team had names in the original book, nearly half of them are swapped for the generic model, named "Muggle" [[WordOfGod according to the credits]].
* YouMeanXmas: Inverted in that while the wizards do celebrate Christmas, they seem to believe for some reason that it celebrates the birth of Myth/{{Merlin}} and not Jesus.
