* AuthorExistenceFailure: Narrowly avoided in regards to Worldmaker, the author of ''FanFic/OriginStory''. Shortly after his last full chapter was published, the writer was involved in a near-fatal accident. He spent two weeks in a coma, and then spent further weeks learning to use his arms and legs again. Nearly two months after the accident, he finally posted a short note to his fans letting them know what happened and that, as soon as he had the time and energy, will be continuing his stories. He has since done just that.

* ExecutiveMeddling: After the author included a scene with Tony Stark (among a few others) speaking with UsefulNotes/GeorgeWBush (President at the time of the ''Civil War arc''), a single Twisting The Hellmouth mod -- who has described herself as a "Raging Republican" -- declared that the scene violated policy, and ordered Worldmaker to "remove George W. Bush and Dick Cheney from the story.". He did so, following her instruction to the letter by subbing out Bush and Cheney's names for two fictional Republican politicians. The moderator, not being satisfied with that solution, ''then'' declared that, no, what Worldmaker was supposed to remove ''the entire scene''. The author (not to mention several other popular writers and one of the other moderators, several of whom had identical complaints regarding this moderator using her own political beliefs as a "litmus test" by which she judged whether a story violated TTH's rules) [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere left TTH permanently in protest]].

** Well, given that the version actually online is the ''second'' version of the story, there is not so much improvisation there in the early twelve or fourteen chapters.

* MutuallyFictional: The Franchise/{{Buffyverse}} and the Franchise/MarvelUniverse are fictional to each other.

** This only tell one half of the story. The scene was, at best, [[StrawmanPolitical very loaded]], something that the author was called out in reviews, repeatedly. And he has an story of abrassive, when not outright hostile behavior, when called out on a fault.

* WritingByTheSeatOfYourPants: The creator of ''FanFic/OriginStory'' admits that, while he began with a carefully plotted outline, the story left the outline in the dust in the middle of Chapter Four and that these days, he's writing whatever comes to him to write, as it occurs to him to write it. That said, he's still managed to put together an intricately constructed and emotionally engaging story, and it absolutely '''''does not''''' look like he's been improvising for the majority of the story.
