* ExecutiveMeddling: Creator/ShuTakumi wanted to make an entirely new cast in ''Apollo Justice'', but Capcom's higher-ups told him he had to put Phoenix in it. Additionally, [[spoiler:the jurist system being introduced]] was also a requirement due to changes in the Japanese legal system, which caused the hotly debated storyline involving Phoenix to be developed. That said, it was Takumi who chose to invoke NotAsYouKnowThem in regards to Phoenix's character as a way to make long time series fans play the game to the end to find out why Phoenix changed.

* TheOtherDarrin: Creator/SamRiegel - via recycled voice clips from ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyDualDestinies'' - replaces Ben Judd as Phoenix in the ''Apollo Justice Trilogy'' version of this game; curiously enough, Apollo and Klavier still retain their original voice actors rather than reusing clips from Creator/OrionAcaba or Creator/YuriLowenthal, who voiced those characters in the same game.

Curiously enough, Apollo and Klavier still retain their original voice actors the voices of JP Kellams and Andrew Alfonso rather than reusing clips from Creator/OrionAcaba or Creator/YuriLowenthal, who voiced those characters in the same game.

given Apollo and Klavier's clips are the same, consistency is unlikely to be the reason

* TheOtherDarrin: In the CompilationRerelease, Sam Reigel replaced Ben Judd as Phoenix's English voice, likely to be consistent with Reigel voicing him in ''Dual Destinies'' and ''Spirit of Justice''. Interestingly, Apollo and Klavier retain their original [=VAs=], despite those two having been recast in the later games as well.
