* ForScience: According to Abbe Faria, this is the reason why joined the Holy Church - or does anything in general.

* ForScience: According to Abbe Faria, this is the reason why joined the Holy Church - or does anything in general. His sole purpose in life is to gather more knowledge.

* KilledOffForReal: . It doesn't get deader than that.
* NoodleIncident:

* TookALevelInBadass: F/GO Dantès was already an AdaptationalBadass, having supernatural powers, but here we see him getting them. It's explained that among the trasures in the Monte Cristo Island was a Magic Crest - the Treasure of Monte Cristo - which gave Dantès his black flames of wrath.

* StreetUrchin: [OC girl] has this kind of backstory, as she spent her youth in gangs and is very familiar with handling a knife and fighting drunks and junkies.

* PothumusNaration:
** Abbe Faria narrates a good chunk of the events even though they all take place after his death.
** [insert niece's names] narrates the events of her death.
* PutOnABus: Dantès sent Ali to Paris so he did not get involved in his revenge for Abbe Faria. It turned out to be a good decision, considering [[spoiler:what happened to the other girl.]]

* ArbitraryScepticism: Dantès was told about the existence of magecraft from Abbe Faria, but apparently the old man had no way of proving his words were true because he had no way to prove it. This trope kicks in when you find out that , and he still did not believe in magecraft until [bishop dude] displayed his supernatural-enhanced toughness.

* OutOfContextProblem: Dantès' plan to kill [insert name of first bishop] was perfectly fullproof - or it would be if the guy was not a MadeOfIron magecraft user. When planning to assassinate , Dantès does take into account how impossibly tough the previous guy was, but then runs into this problem again because [[spoiler:Roa is a Dead Apostle Ancestor.]]

Gathering examples for a work, don't mind me.

Eirei Denshou Ibun ~Gankutsuou Edmond Dantès~, translating to "Strange Tales of Heroic Spirit Lore ~King of the Cavern, Edmond Dantès~"fan translation, is a CD Drama based on VideoGame/FateGrandOrder, wriiten by Hikaru Sakurai under the supervision of Kinoko Nasu. It takes place during the events of Literature/TheCountOfMonteCristo, particularly the TimeSkip between Dantès' escape from Chateau D'If and his return to the French society. The CD Drama follows Dantès as he starts his path to vengeance by killing those who had arrested Abbe Faria.

Unfortunately for him, said people are members of the Holy Church, and without realizing, Dantès has probably bitten more than he could chew.

----

!!This CD Drama contains examples of:
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Dantès himself, as he is the F/GO version of the character.
** Abbe Faria was an Executioner for the Holy Church, which is a group of demon and mage hunters.
** , though even with that there is not much she can do to help directly.
* AdaptationalDyeJob: In the novel Dantès was an EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette, but in F/GO and the Drama CD his hair was bleached white. e Hanginged when [bishop dude] comments on it as the Count's distinguishing trait.
* DieOrFly: Dantès only managed to activate his newfound magic power while on the verge of being killed by . He had no idea he had them prior to this.
* ForegoneConclusion: Since the events take place during the novel's TimeSkip, it's obvious that Dantès will survive no matter the odds.
