''Academy of Villains'' is a play by post roleplay on the Website/NationStates forum that was created in January 2016. It was created as both an original RP set in its own universe(or universes, once dimensional travel comes into the story), and a SpiritualSuccessor to another roleplay called Academy of Heroes and Villains, and the official spinoff of that roleplay, Academy of Heroes and Villains: Future Present. Players in the roleplay play as students training to become supervillains(or to be a BadassNormal), and go on missions for an organization called the League of Villains on the way.

* AbusiveParents: There are many abusive parents. Many.
* AcademyOfEvil: The school easily counts as this.
* AcademyOfAdventure: Absolutely, unequivocally, no point in trying to debate it.
* ActionGirl: A lot of the female player characters and teachers qualify as this.
* AffablyEvil: Some of the player characters, even though they're training to be(or work for) supervillains.
* AIIsACrapshoot: An AI runs the base in the background, however a copy of this AI was accidentally merged with an experimental organic computer, creating the sociopathic sentient being Tempest.
* AllMythsAreTrue: Wonderland, Never Land, Heaven, Hell, and a whole lot of other places get mentioned--and occasionally visited.

* AwfulTruth: When the Jabberwock returns to Wonderland, Alice finds out that she brought it back...

* BerserkButton: Alice once had a run-in with a pervert. It didn't end well.

* CannotTalkToWomen: Stephan cannot talk to women. In fact, he got dissed by one for staring and walked away, sad.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Pretty much everyone.

* TheDragon: Jazz seems to be this for Question.

* ExtranormalInstitute: Because if it doesn't fit this trope...
* InterspeciesRomance: Honor and Violet have went past platonic relations, with Violet being a demon and Honor a human. James and Luna have a romantic relationship, with Luna being an elf and James a human.
* {{Jerkass}}: Venus is guilty of being a jerkass, albeit not with any terrible intentions.
* MookHorrorShow: The majority of the students, especially the Betas and Etas are capable of making a scene into this when faced with numerous enemies.
* FragileSpeedster: Benson avoids close combat despite having superhuman speed because he can't take a hit. He prefers to attack with guns and use his speed to dodge attacks, to avoid being hit.
* HeroicBSOD: Honor goes through one on the very first day, being told the truth of her origin and conception.
* HotChickWithASword: Raven and Alice are both examples of this. Although the Vorpal Blade Alice carries appears to be a knife, Word of God states that in fact, it only appears as a knife in the Otherworld--when in Wonderland, it takes its true form, that of a long sword.
* LampshadeHanging: After Wendy refers to Alice seeming to have 'a hair trigger', Azazel asks if that's like a Berserk Button. Extra points for this one, because Wendy then compliments a previously unreferenced lampshade...
* OvershadowedByAwesome: All the Deltas.
* ProfessionalKiller: Quite of a few of them including students like Raven to teachers such as Jazz.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: The whole reason Alice was convicted of murder. Raven was stated to have done this as well.
