Semyon gets asked by one of the patients to deliver him his cigarettes. Semyon takes them from the patient's belongings... and gets busted by Varya, who mistakes him for stealing. Semyon sarcastically tells her that yes, he steals from the patients (both cigarettes and their food). Varya responds by stealing Semyon's money and secretly putting them amongst patient's belongings -- about which she proudly tells to Semyon. Unfortunately, he can't just ask the patient for confirmation since he's suffering from bad memory and can't remember even Lobanov himself, let alone their deal. Varya talks with a forgetful patient more, and learns that Semyon is innocent... and that the patient has ''really'' bad memory. He also can't remember that those money were put here by Varya, not his wife, so Varya has no other way to deal with situation but to give Semyon some of her own money. Unknowingly to her, he already took some from her pursue, considering this to be only fair due to her stealing from him first. He's not okay with keeping any excessive money, and tries to put the rest of her money back in her pursue, only to get busted during act. Fortunately, Varya mistakes his confession for being sarcastic.

Lyuba would depart to USA tomorrow, to visit Levin, and plans to throw the last party for her friends before that. But to her irritation, it turns out that ''no one'' is aware of this, despite her warning them beforehand. Bykov is angry about being kept in the dark about this, too, since he is Lyuba's direct superior, and now he's vehemently against allowing her to go anywhere. More so, he would punish anyone who would dare to visit her party! Meanwhile, Phil learns a new weird phrase when he goes out shopping. Gleb knows just as little about its meaning, and asks Semyon; the only thing he learns is that it's very, ''very'' dirty. Foretasting how much fun he would have, he lies to Phil that this is a compliment. Comes the evening, and the party finally starts... but there're no guests besides Gleb. Then Gleb asks wether Bykov is here, and when Lyuba tells him that no... Gleb tells everyone else to come in. In the middle of the party, Phil remembers about the "compliment" he learnt not long ago, and tells it to Lyuba. Cue shocked silence; only Gleb giggles in the corner. Suddenly, Bykov appears... not to crush their party, but to become a part of it. He reveals his ''real'' reason to be so rude today: he feared that Lyuba would leave him permanently, and tried to prevent it. But then he decided to just trust her; they ''are'' old friends, after all. He actually gives a great speech, with everyone applauding.

** At first, it seems that Lyuba's party was completely ignored, only Gleb attained it for some reason. Then Gleb asks wether Bykov is here, and when Lyuba tells that no... Gleb tells everyone else to come in.

* BlatantLies: Phil asks Gleb what the weird phrase he's heard in the shop while standing in line; Gleb (after learning from Lobanov that it's swearing) lies that it's a compliment. Considering that Phil has heard that phrase from the angry customer tired of standing in line due to incompetent cashier, it's blatantly obvious that it's anything but; not to mention that Gleb is a known prankster. Phil still falls for it.

* CultureClash: Gleb exploits Phil's lack of understanding of Russian "mat" (nuclear-grade arsenal of profanities and their combinations) to fool him into believing that the phrase he recently learned is a compliment. Though it wouldn't be hard to understand the opposite just from context of the situation where he heard it, giving that it was used by an angry shopper who wasted time standing in line due to incompetent cashier.

* IdiotBall: Yes, Phil still has much to learn about Russian language, but context alone (the phrase was used by an angry shopper who spent a lot of time standing in line due to incompetent cashier) would be a clear clue that this phrase is ''anything but compliment''. Especially since it's [[{{Troll}} Gleb]] who tells him that, who's known for that sort of pranks, particularly at Phil's expense.

** Lyuba all but directly states that she would depart to USA, to visit Levin. Neither Varya nor Phil gets it (mainly because they are too busy with their own problems to actually pay attention to what she says to them), and when the "suddenly" learns that she does, in fact, plan to leave, asks her why she never warned them before, to Lyuba's irritation. Then Galya asks about it, too...

When Bykov tries to insist that since he was not informed, he would not care wether Lyuba has permission from Kisegach or not, Lyuba reminds him that she ''did'' inform him, but he never listened; just quickly signed a document and forgot.

Lyuba would depart in USA tomorrow to visit Levin, and plans to organise last party for her friends before that. But to her irritation, it turns out what ''no one'' was aware of this, despite her warning them beforehand. Bykov is angry about being kept in the dark about this, too, since he is Lyuba's direct superior, and now he's vehemently against allowing her to go anywhere. More so, he would punish anyone who would dare to visit her party!

Semyon was asked by one of patients to deliver him his cigarettes. Semyon took them from patient's belongings... and was busted by Varya, who mistook him for stealing. Semyon sarcastically tell her what yes, he steal from patients (both cigarettes and their food). Unfortunately, he can't just ask patient for confirmation since he's suffers from bad memory and can't remember even Lobanov himself, let alone their deal.

Phil learned new weird phrase when he was out shopping. Gleb was in the dark about its meaning just as Phil himself, and asked Semyon; he learnt little besides this obviously being something very, very dirty. Foretasting how much fun he would have, he lied to Phil what this is compliment.

Party finally started... but theres only Lyuba, and Gleb who come in. Then Gleb asked wether Bykov is presented, and when Lyuba tell him "no"... Gleb tell everyone else to come in. In the middle of the party Phil remembered about "compliment" he learnt not long ago, and tell it to Lyuba. Cue shocked silence; only Gleb giggles in the corner. Suddenly, Bykov appeared... but not to crush their party, but to become part of it.

Varya responded by stealing Semyon's money and secretly putting them amongst patient's belongings -- about which she proudly tell to Semyon.

Varya talked with forgetful patient more, and learned what Semyon is innocent... and what patient has ''really'' bad memory. He also can't remember what those money was put here by Varya, not his wife, so Varya has no other way to deal with situation but to give Semyon some of her money. Unknowingly to her, he already took some from her pursue, considering this to be only fair due to her stealing from him first. He was not okay with keeping any excessive money, and trued to put rest of her money back in her pursue, and was busted during act. Fortunately, Varya mistook his confession for being sarcastic one.

He revealed his ''real'' reason to be so rude today: he feared what Lyuba would leave him permanently, and tried to prevent it. But now he decided to just trust her, and actually gave great speech. They ''are'' old friends, after all.
----
!! This episode provides examples of:
* AngerBornOfWorry: As Bykov tell when he attended Lyuba's party himself, his real motivation for attempt to crush Lyuba's party (and prevent her leaving) was fear -- fear, what she would leave, and never return, because he knows her for a ''long'' time, and knows what without her, hospital would never be the same.
* BaitAndSwitch:
** Varya and Phil believed what Lyuba fell ill and needs immediate help. She needs help, indeed, but with delivering heavy packages with food: she plans to leave for vacancy, and wants to organise party for her friends before that.
** At first, it seems what Lyuba's party was completely ignored, only Gleb attained it for some reason. Then Gleb asked wether Bykov is presented, and when Lyuba tell "no"... Gleb tell everyone else to come in.
* CassandraTruth: Varya didn't believe Semyon when he tell her what he was joking about stealing from his senior patient. Semyon actually tried to ask patient himself for confirmation, but he has bad memory and couldn't remember anything, making Semyon looking even more awkward in process.
* CultureClash: Gleb exploited Phil's lack of understanding of Russian "mat" (nuclear-grade arsenal of profanities and their combinations) to fooling him into believing what phrase he recently learned is compliment. Though it wouldn't be hard to understand opposite just from context of situation where he heard it, giving it was used by angry shopper who wasted time standing in line due to incompetent cashier.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Semyon is not stranger to profanities, but when Gleb asked him what phrase he heard from Phil means, Semyon was visibly stunned when he heard this, and then then refused to explain this, with unhidden disgust in his voice.
-->'''Semyon''': ''"Gleb, you're nuts? I'm drinking coffee here, you know? Where you heard that?"''\\
'''Gleb''': ''"Not me; Phil. Which is interesting"''.\\
'''Semyon''': ''"He started snooping around garbage piles?"''\\
'''Gleb''': ''"So, what this means?"''\\
'''Semyon''': ''"This is really disgusting... really, better just forget it"''.
* TheHeart: Everyone considers Lyuba to be this for whole Therapy department; [[PutOnABus without her]], it wouldn't be the same. This is one of main reasons why Bykov is so vehemently against allowing her to leave: her departure would negatively impact Therapy's work.
* HonorBeforeReason: Varya's responce to Semyon [[SarcasticConfession apparently]] stealing cigarettes from Semyon? Taking all his money and secretly giving them to patient, as if Semyon "bough" them (sad, she took '''much''' more than their actual value, but it was in one banknote; Semyon can consider rest of this to be "compensation for moral damage"), for which Semyon actually call her dumbass. All of this instead, you know, ask patient for confirmation.
* IdiotBall:
** Semyon forgot what Varya is SarcasmBlind. Predictably, his SarcasticConfession was taken as face value, kickstarting their plot.
** Yes, Phil still has much to learn about Russian language, but context alone (phrase was used by angry shopper who spend a lot of time standing in line due to incompetent cashier) would be clear clue what this phrase, at least, can't be compliment. Especially since it was stated by [[{{Troll}} Gleb]], who constantly uses Phil as victim of his pranks.
* InnocentSwearing: Phil, thanks to [[{{Troll}} Gleb]] telling him what phrase he heard recently is, in fact, compliment; in reality, it was ''very'' dirty profanity (so dirty, not even Semyon was dare to explain it when asked, [[NothingIsFunnier and we never learn what this was supposed to mean]].
* MistakenForThief: Lobanov, twice. First time, it was when he took cigarettes of one patient and failed to explain what he was asked by patient himself (his SarcasticConfession only made things worse, due to Varya being SarcasmBlind), second time during [[ItMakesSenseInContext putting money in Varya's pursue]]; he confessed to her for real, but Varya likely considered this to be sarcasm, due to situation being similar to first one (where it was genuine sarcasm).
* NoListeningSkills:
** Lyuba all but directly stated what she would depart in USA, to visit Levin. Neither Varya nor Phil get it (mainly because they were too busy with their own problems to actually pay attention what she says to them), and when "suddenly" learnt what she does, in fact, plans to leave, ask her why she never warned them before, to Lyuba's irritation. Then Galya asked about it, too...
** Bykov was unaware about her vacancy and reacted negatively, since he was not informed about it. When Kisegach tell him what she's unaware, too, he considered what Lyuba just faked her signature... and then Kisegach remembered what Lyuba ''did'' asked her, but she never paid attention and signed document without reading. When Bykov tried to insist what since he was not informed, he would not care wether Lyuba has permission from Kisegach or not, Lyuba reminded him what she ''did'' informed him, but he never listened; just quickly signed document and forgot.
* NotHelpingYourCase: When senior patient couldn't remember ever talking to Semyon about cigarettes, Lobanov tried to press him, then shouted on him. This not only not confirmed his claims, this make him look like jerk in process.
* NothingIsFunnier: We never learn exactly what profanity Phil used means; unlike several previous ones, which could be heard through bleeping clear enough to understand them (and their meaning was immediately explained by Phil himself), this one is censored well enough to preserve mystery. But whatever it was, it surprised even Gleb (let alone Lyuba when Phil thoughtlessly called her that).
* OldFlame: Despite how ugly they parted when Levin leaved to USA back in season 3, both him and Lyuba still have feelings for each other. This is why Lyuba decided to [[PutOnABus visit him in USA]].
* PoorCommunicationKills: Semyon's and Varya's plot, in its entirety:
** Semyon was asked by senior patient to deliver him cigarettes from patient's belongings. Lobanov was busted by Varya, and when she accused him of stealing, gave her SarcasticConfession (which she took as face value, due to being SarcasmBlind).
** Varya, to "punish" Semyon, stole his money and gave them to patient (secretly). When he found out, Varya tell him what and why she did, and he tried to explain what she misunderstood his joke. When she didn't believe, he tried to ask patient himself... only to learn what his memory is ''very'' poor, making himself looking as {{Jerkass}} in process due to shouting on old man without achieving anything.
