Everyone gets a green light except for Chidi, who is conflicted over whether his present self is his best self. Eleanor talks him down and he gets approved... but now Eleanor doesn't because "Chidi got in my head" and now she has doubts. Eventually, it comes out that at least one of them won't be their best self and that Michael only summoned the balloon to buy himself some time to think up a real plan while the humans try to talk through the issue.
