* AdaptationalDistillation: The plot is changed a little bit from the original comic this episode is based on. The original story focused solely on Raph and Casey, with the other turtles only appearing in the beginning, while here, the turtles have more screentime, although, [[ADayInTheLimelight Raph still is the main character of this story]]. The others also join in the final fight against the Purple Dragons, whereas the original comic ended with a BolivianArmyEnding, with Raph and Casey agreeing that Casey needs to watch his temper while fighting crime and the two jump in to protect a random citizen being mugged. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking And while most of the dialogues are taken word-for-word from the comics, every instance of Michelangelo's nickname is changed from "Mike" in the comic, to "Mikey" in this episode]].

Also, when Raph first left to go up to the surface world, Mikey tried going after him before Master Splinter stopped him.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Raphael, after coming to his senses, is visibly horrified that he almost seriously hurt Michelangelo.

* ADayInTheLimelight: For Raphael--this is also the first episode to primarily focus on just one of the turtles instead of all four of them as a group.
