* BodyHorror: Mob gives up on his own terms for fighting Claw's power-drunken leader and wields his resignation as literal EmotionalTorque: with clear intent to kill, he contorts the man's body to an absolutely gruesome degree. It's easy to forget that this gentle, kind, soft-spoken teenager is capable of the full spectrum of human emotion...

* HeelFaceTurn: Serizawa, who comes to work at Spirits and Such after Claw's downfall. Mob gets to show him the ropes.

* SenpaiKohai: Fourteen-year-old Mob gains a ''kōhai'' (subordinate coworker) when Serizawa, more than twice his age, joins the Spirits and Such team. This understandably makes the teenager nervous, as being a ''senpai'' entails responsibility he isn't yet accustomed to handle.

He's ''absolutely enjoying this''. At least until Suzuki slaps him back down to earth and he catches a glimpse of his brother, looking on in uneasy awe. Remembering Ritsu's justified fear of him fills him with shame. The energy demon jacks up his power output, continuing to mock him. Mob isn't done trying to reach this man, and wants to know what made him this way. In his compassion and sorrow, he attempts to relieve this city's suffering by crushing him in a massive ball of fallen buildings; it only stokes the man's fury.

The next day, the citizens marvel at the giant plant--a massive head of broccoli--growing in the heart of Seasoning City. Suzuki, alive and contrite, turns himself in to the government after apologizing to his son and Serizawa. Reigen was able to collect on his insurance after all. Mob puts two and two together; so that's what happened to the seeds in his gakuran's breast pocket. And it looks like he has a new ''kouhai'' (subordinate coworker) to train...

* ChekhovsGun / ChekhovsSkill: Mob's payment in broccoli seeds and the [[GreenThumb chlorokinesis]] he learns from the [[SmallRoleBigImpact Wiggly Figure]] in this season's first episode. He accidentally redirects some of Suzuki's overflow into the seeds, still in the breast pocket of his [[SchoolUniformsAreTheNewBlack gakuran]]. The rest gets channeled into physically healing everyone's injuries and restoring most of the massive property damage caused by Claw.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Averted; Mob's attempted [[{{Pun}} twist ending]] of Suzuki triggers his SuperpowerMeltdown instead.
* DeathEqualsRedemption: Averted. Suzuki asks Mob to MercyKill him to halt the explosion; Mob refuses. There are people in his life who still need him, as the child reminds him, and he can redeem himself by paying for his crimes and being present for them.

* MoodSwinger: Mob cycles through a number of different emotional states at full intensity in his battle with Suzuki, including shame, compassion, sorrow and resignation. Justified in that each peak emotional experience lends Mob more psychic strength for this fight.

Concerned voices and a sharp beam of light pierce the darkness. The child is awake and embedded in something soft. Ritsu, Mob, Teru and Reigen dig Mob out. All their physical injuries are healed; but Mob collapses shortly after, apparently in mental exhaustion. Teru floats him down out of this place before heading home, while Reigen and Ritsu, carrying Mob, sneak into Salt Middle School for some spare clothes.

Musashi catches them contemplating tracksuits in the Body Improvement Club room and gives them a scare. They fill him in on the situation. He summons the rest of the club and offers his grandma's home as lodgings while Shou's lackeys rebuild the Kageyamas' house. The catch? They'll have to harvest their own food and cook their own meals from the Gouda family farm -- and it's a 90 minute jog away. Reigen wishes them luck.

Mob refuses to end Suzuki ''père'''s life per his request, and sits there with him, holding space for Suzuki while [[EnergyAbsorption painfully absorbing the man's excess energy]] into his own body. While he doesn't die, he is willing to put his life on the line to ensure the man doesn't suffer alone.
