* NoIndoorVoice: Nebulus Nimbus (Langelus in French, after a church bell). He's always '''TALKING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS.''' He thinks quietly, though.

Added DiffLines:

* HaplesslyHiding: a Roman legionary gets volunteered to go spy on the Gauls, disguised as a tree. An owl starts flying around him, causing him to get noticed by the Gauls and captured.

It's not against the rules for Vitalstatistix to use the potion, Ceramix implied as such with his initial terrified refusal to challenge him until Getafix was removed

* SimpleSolutionWontWork: Having failed to conquer the Gaul village, the Romans hatch the plan of having Cassius Ceramix (a Gaul chief [[LesCollaborateurs who has accepted Roman rule and adapted to be more Roman]]), [[ChallengingTheChief challenge their chief]] Vitalstatistix through the Gaul tradition of the Big Fight for rulership so he can have them surrender to Roman rule once he takes over. This creates problems for the Gauls as Vitalstistix must fight without using the magic potion (which they don't have anyway since Getafix is temporarily insane) and Ceramix is much stronger than he is. At one point in training Vitalstatistix notes he could just temporary abdicate in favour of [[SuperStrength Obelix]] who would easily win, only for Asterix to explain the rules of the Big Fight [[ObviousRulePatch specifically forbid that trick]]. Vitalstatistix ends up running in circles around the ring to tire out Ceramix, then hits him with a MegatonPunch (without potion even) once he hears Getafix is back.

* HistoricalInJoke: Cassius Ceramix is a pun on Cassius Clay, the former name of boxing champion UsefulNotes/MuhammadAli. Likewise Vitalstatistix seeks to exhaust his opponent before throwing a knockout punch and does an "Ali shuffle" victory dance.

Historical In Joke is "A work references a historical event plus gives extra info about it."

* MeaningfulName: Cassius Ceramix is the only character in the series to have one name ending in "-us" and another in "-ix", perfectly fitting for a collaborator.

* ShoutOut: Cassius Ceramix. Ceramic is made of clay. [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali Remind you of anyone?]] He is also the only character in the series to have one name ending in "-us" and another in "-ix", perfectly fitting for a collaborator.

* OminousAdversarialAmusement: The legionaries refuse to attack until it gets pointed out they have no magic potion and are outnumbered. The legionaries attack... [[OhCrap but then one of them notices the Gauls are snickering]]. The usual CurbStompBattle ensues.
