* Played with in ''Film/PastLives''. Arthur comes off as remarkably accepting of the situation between Nora and Hae Sung and doesn't stop them from meeting, even saying at one point that such behavior would probably be expected of him [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall if they were characters in a story]]. However, it's implied that his feelings on the matter are more complex than what he ends up sharing, which is indicated through elements including several exchanges he has with Nora (such as when he jokes that she wouldn't drop everything to run away with Hae Sung, only to then sincerely ask for assurance that she won't) and the non-verbal elements of his performance.

** This was also played straight by Grams' first husband [[spoiler:before he died]], but averted by everyone after that. The girls' father Victor also seemed quite accepting (and is of the girls' magic in the present day), but it's implied Grams drove him away.
