* Some Eldar armor in ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}}'' molds to the user absurdly well in the regions not covered by the stiffened overplates, especially noticeable with the Guardian model's easily visible abs.
** Justified in that it's Psycho-sensitive plastic, so it conforms to the form for maximum protection while simultaneously affording maximum mobility. Notably, the Howling Banshees are all female [[BreastPlate in appearance]], but some are male.
** DependingOnTheWriter this may actually be averted. In some of the less humanlike interpretations of the Eldar their armor is just as bulky on them as a Space Marine's is on a human, it's just that they're inhumanly thin.

Another reason, particularly where superhero comics are concerned, is that artists are trained to draw human figures. It is faster and easier to add colors that imply spandex clothing than to actually draw the folds and wrinkles that come with wearing realistic clothing. In other words, most of the time (and this goes for male characters as well as female), what you're seeing are nudes with strategic coloring.
