* Livia in ''Literature/IClaudius'' is obsessed with a prophecy that at some time in the future, the only god worshipped in Rome would have some characteristics shared by her - so she's convinced it will be her, if she can only be deified after her death. Claudius agrees to this wish and follows through when he becomes Emperor, but he's skeptical that any one god could ever take such preeminence. The reader, of course, will be aware of some [[UsefulNotes/{{Christianity}} contemporary events in Judea]] which had major effects in Rome later on.

* In Season 2 of the HBO version of ''Series/{{Perry Mason|2020}}'', set in the early 1930s, Brooks is trying to attract a Major League Baseball team to Los Angeles. He points out correctly that Los Angeles is more than big enough to support a team--in 1930, LA was already the fifth biggest city in the country and was bigger than many eastern cities with teams--and that a baseball team in LA will do great. Everyone thinks he's an idiot and there is no interest from MLB. He's completely correct, although it would be a quarter-century from this time setting before the Dodgers relocated to Los Angeles.
