* The whole "if you know each other's identities, you have to give up your Miraculous" deal is often removed due to the fact it's essentially another reason for the Love Square to not happen and the show itself fluctuates on its enforcement. Even if it is brought in up fanworks, the heroes either hide it from others or it's flat out called out for how pointless it is.

* A lot of fans prefer to ignore "Derision" for a variety of reasons -- mostly either because they felt the attempt to explain away Marinette's StalkerWithACrush tendencies as [[spoiler:the result of PTSD from her previous crush playing a cruel prank on her]] was extremely lacking (as not only did she not act this way towards any of her crushes besides Adrien, but it also doesn't make her behavior any less inappropriate or invasive), or because they hated how Kim was written to be even more of a {{jerkass}} than he was even in season 1 (not to mention the complaints that [[spoiler:his involvement in the prank]] went against a part of his character established in "Darkblade"). There's also a second group who felt this had the opposite effect because it meant all those past moments that were meant to be laughed at and not be taken seriously are now genuinely problematic and creepy.

* A number of fans tend to ignore the season 5 finale thanks to the extremely divisive nature of [[spoiler:Gabriel's ultimate fate -- namely, how he managed to use a Wish before dying (thus achieving his original goal) and how no one outside of his collaborators and Marinette ever learns he was Monarch, including his own son]].

* In "Ephemeral" it's revealed that when the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous unify the power destroys the entire universe and recreates it based on the user's wish. Many fans didn't like this reveal since if the power is ever permanently used then the show would have an EsotericHappyEnding (since the characters we've known are gone and replaced with new versions of themselves) and also because people liked the idea that if you wish for something for yourself or someone else another person close to you would be negatively affected. (A popular one being that if Gabriel does get his wish to wake up Emilie then someone close to him like Adrien, Nathalie, or even Gabriel himself would be put into her coma.)

* A lot of fans prefer to ignore "Derision's" attempt to "explain" Marinette's stalker tendencies as the result of a traumatic experience when [[spoiler: her previous crush Kim played an ''extremely'' cruel prank on her that left her with several mental scars,]] including the compulsive need to know absolutely everything about her crush and the inability to approach them without a plan of action. Among other complaints, many fans have pointed out that not only has Marinette never exhibited the PTSD-esque symptoms she showed in this episode, but many events throughout the series have outright contradicted the episode's claims, such as how Marinette never showed these issues with her crushes besides Adrien, such as Luka or [[spoiler: Cat Noir]].

This also doesn't explain all her other behavior that had nothing to do with knowing something about Adrien.

FanonDiscontinuity examples for ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug''.
----
* Fans of the original PV like to pretend that "Félix" never happened, largely thanks to the titular character being a [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk straight-up jerk]] instead of the JerkWithAHeartOfGold most fans portray him as.
* Thanks to its status as a major [[BrokenBase base-breaker]], fans also have a tendency to rewrite or just ignore the majority of season 3.
* Many fans have ignored or disregarded the Truth-era WordOfGod[=/=]Retcon that Luka and Juleka are twins and Juleka was held back a year, continuing to write Luka as a regular older brother. While Luka is generally kept as Jagged Stone's son following Truth Juleka is frequently his half-sister instead.
* In "Puppeteer 2", there is an infamously creepy scene where [[StalkerWithACrush Marinette]] flirts with and sniffs what she thinks is a wax sculpture of Adrien. Many people (both shippers and haters) would rather pretend this scene didn't exist. To make matters worse, in "Determination", it was revealed this was the moment he ''fell for her''. While some find this sweet, many would rather have Adrien have a more realistic reaction to it and be creeped out. Even some shippers would rather he have found a moment a little less creepy to fall for her.
* ''Many'' fans prefer to ignore the existence of Zoé Lee altogether, whether they're Chloé fans or not. Even in stories where she does get acknowledged, she almost never [[spoiler:gets the Bee Miraculous or even a Miraculous at all]].
* Fans of both Marinette and Adrien tend to ignore any episodes or scenes where they engage in more negative behavior in favor of portraying their preferred character as a morally pure woobie -- especially if they're bashing the other character in the process.
* If "Chameleon" isn't having its premise deconstructed in a fic, then nine times out of ten fanfic writers will simply ignore that it ever happened.
