* "Feel Good Story" sets up intrigue about the Whitewhale company murdering an employee to keep them quiet. Then it's revealed that [[spoiler: the billionaire in charge of the company is perfectly comfortable admitting that he murdered the worker himself. Why is he so relaxed? Because ''congress just passed a law making it legal for billionaires to murder people.'']]

* After Bojack's disastrous follow-up interview with Biscuits Braxby, he starts ranting about how it's inaccurate to call him a misognist... [[ComicallyMissingThePoint because he also ruined]] [[HatesEveryoneEqually the lives of many men.]]

* In "The Judge," Princess Carolyn meets Ralph's family, but has to [[MySecretPregnancy hide her pregnancy]] for the time being. Ralph's parents offer her a drink, which she turns down, then try to get her a coffee or a smoke. Their requests continue and get more and more ludicrously dangerous for an expectant mother, such as offering her "a quick punch in the belly so you remember what it's like to feel alive" (which is apparently "a rich person thing") or a ride on their extremely dangerous roller coaster.

-->'''Bojack's Mind:''' These are cookies. This is not breakfast. You are eating cookies. ''Stop it.'' Stop eating cookies and go make yourself breakfast. Stop it. Don't eat one more cookie. Put that cookie down. Do not eat that cookie. ''(BoJack takes a bite from it)'' I can't believe you ate that cookie!

* While the rest of Bojack's inner thoughts in "Stupid Piece of Sh*t" are rather depressing, this monologue in the beginning deserves special mention.

* "Free Churro" is an entire episode of Bojack giving a eulogy for [[spoiler:his mother]], with half an hour of laying out his complex feelings in a tour de force performance by Will Arnett. Then it turns out [[spoiler:he was at the wrong funeral]], and as a result, you can't help but find it hilarious.

!!''WesternAnimation/BoJackHorseman''
CrossesTheLineTwice in this series.

* While's Beatrice Horseman's abuse of her son and the severe damage it does is played entirely for drama, Butterscotch is generally so over the top that it tends to play HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood hilariously straight. The scene of him lecturing young [=BoJack=] about not taking the easy way out "like some kind of democrat" feels like something out of ''WesternAnimation/RenAndStimpy'', complete with [[SoundtrackDissonance goofy '50s stock music]] and a WackySoundEffect when he backhands [=BoJack=]. Averted later on, as flashbacks with Butterscotch become more somber.
* Then there was Butterscotch's... [[InsaneTrollLogic creative]] take on {{imaginary friend}}s "Live Fast, Diane Nguyen."
--> "Imaginary friends are [[ConspiracyTheorist freeloaders invented by communists to rip off welfare]]. Why don't you do something productive like bang your head against the wall until [[BuffySpeak your brain isn't so stupid]]."
* [=BoJack=]'s early critiques on Todd's RockOpera:
--->"That was, and I don't say this lightly, worse than a hundred September 11ths."
--->"Imagine if the Holocaust happened every four years like the Olympics. I would rather THAT happen than your rock opera."
* Wanda's pitch for a show where David Copperfield makes the World Trade Center disappear... which the network turns down only because [[BaitAndSwitch David Copperfield isn't really popular anymore.]]
* The traditionally bleak eleventh episode of season 2 starts with a redone catchy theme song about how [[spoiler:Charlotte now has a family and their life is perfect]].
* Sextina's abortion song. Also incredibly catchy. Taken up to eleven during the bridge, where she wishes that the unborn fetus has a soul just so it'll feel pain during the abortion. And taken even further by Tom Jumbo-Grumbo's reaction:
--->'''Tom''': "Has the concept of women having choices gone too far?"
* Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter arguing on the news about women's right to have a gun, and then immediately heading home to have loud, angry sex while ''the entire campaign staff is still in the house.''
--->'''Diane''': [[UnusualEuphemism FILL MY CHAMBER WITH YOUR POWERFUL BULLETS!]]
* [=BoJack=] proposing that he should do a live episode of Horsin' Around on stage at the nursing home in front of his mother... [[spoiler:[[ShootTheShaggyDog just so when she remembers, he can finally]] [[PrecisionFStrike tell her "Fuck you!"]].]] Made even better by how sudden it is.
* The ending of "Underground."
-->'''Mr. Peanutbutter''': Let's go ho- oh...\\
''(Suddenly remembers that they're standing inside the rubble of what used to be their house)''
* "Time's Arrow" has an ''extremely'' dark HistoricalInJoke from Beatrice, when she laments the assassination of Civil Rights activist Medgar Evers.
--->'''Beatrice:''' At least Evers' death means [[UsefulNotes/JohnFKennedy no one else will be assassinated this year, 1963]]. The FBI is on too high alert to [[TemptingFate let anything like that happen again.]]
* PC's doctor's method of [[spoiler:announcing her miscarriage]]:
--->'''Doctor''': "As Charles Lindbergh would say, sometimes you fly an airplane and sometimes you [[spoiler:lose a baby]]. In this case, you didn't fly the airplane."
* Joseph Sugarman, on the cause of WWII:
-->"If anyone's to blame, it's the Jews, for peeving off Hitler so bad."
* Stefani calmly tells Diane that the cockroach employees have unionized, so she called an exterminator slash negotiator and has tented the office. Diane is aghast while saying yes, she can work remotely. Then she hears screams from inside the tent along with gas. Stefani dismisses it as the negotiations.

Then it turns out [[spoiler:he was at the wrong funeral]], and as a result, you can't help but find it hilarious.
* "The Stopped Show" has Biscuits Braxby remark that 1995 was a "Good year for Zinfandels. Bad year for [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_bombing Oaklahoma federal buildings]]".
* "Feel Good Story" sets up intrigue about the Whitewhale company murdering an employee to keep them quiet.
