Deleted "and/or brain-damaged lunatic. Yes, really." because it's sorta ableist.

A motorcycle enthusiast, Busey was famous for not wearing a helmet. That would all change on December 4, 1988, when he got into a motorcycle accident and seriously damaged his skull in the process. Busey spent several months in physical therapy regaining control of his entire body, and he suffered brain damage that "weakened his mental filters." The extent of the damage wasn't fully realized until two decades later, and the general view of him now is that he's absolutely ''crazy.'' It's a fair assessment; interviews with him and anecdotes from people who have met him paint the picture of an erratic and, at times, unsettling personality. Thankfully, he's taken this in stride and even [[AdamWesting embraced the image somewhat.]]

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

** He holds the honor of being the very first ''VideoGame/{{Hitman}}'' target to be fully based on a real person, and even voiced his virtual counterpart. Doubles as AdamWesting, since his in-game persona is arguably [[UpToEleven even]] ''[[UpToEleven crazier]]'' [[UpToEleven than he is in real life]].

* AdamWesting: So much so that this trope could even be renamed after Gary instead. He seems to have no issue whatsoever lustily embracing his eccentric image and mining it for humor.

* OlderThanTheyLook: In his late seventies but hasn't aged very much since the late 80's/early 90's. All the more impressive given all he's been through as listed above.
