After joining Naruto and Jiraiya on their mission to the ruins to Uzushiogakure, she is later freed from her captivity and reforms the Uzumaki-Clan alongside Naruto and Masakado. When Jiraiya [[spoiler:becomes Hokage, she takes over his old role as Konoha's [[TheSpymaster spymaster]], using her new role to look for fellow Uzumaki-survivors.]]

A hawkish elder on Konoha's council, a former rival to Hiruzen, his fellow student under the Nidaime Hokage and a former canidate for the position of Hokage. He also used to be the head of ROOT, a special force focused on foreign threats. ROOT was disbanded after the Uchiha-massacre [[spoiler:which happen under his orders. Except he didn't disband ROOT, continuing it in secret, causing a lot of harm. His tries to have the Raikage assassinated (more intending it to fail in oder to undermine Jiraiya's negotiations with him) and also sends his agents to kill the Kamizuru-clan. This ultimatley causes the village's leadership to turn on him. After an ardous chase, he is killed by Hiruzen, who has to make HeroicSacrifice for it.]]

* AdaptationalVillainy: While he his more morally gray in-canon, the fic's depiction draws heavily on his depiction in fillers of the anime, where he is a lot more evil. This includes [[spoiler:being the only one to order the Uchiha-massacre (which was ordered by the elders as a whole in canon), trying to have Kakashi assassinate Hiruzen, trying to have Tenzō (Yamato) assassinate Kakashi, and almost starting wars with ''both'' Kumo and Iwa.]]
