* ALighterShadeOfBlack: By human or Jedi standards Ludo Kressh wouldn't be called a good person but he's certainely a lesser evil compared to Naga Sadow as he's a more cautious and isolationist Sith who didn't want to expand the Sith Empire and the war with the Republic.

* TheRival: To Naga Sadow.

to:

* OutGambitted: Several times by Sadow. The first time he plans an attack on Naga Sadow's stronghold after finding evidence that Sadow was the one who orchestrated the freeing of Jori Daragon, unaware that Sadow had planted the evidence on purpose as well as soldiers loyal to him in Kressh's forces. He also pulls a ThanathosGambit by faking his death, so he could take power and proclaim himself Dark Lord of the Sith while Sadow and the majority of the Sith forces were away, but even after that and with his forces outnumbering Sadow's weakened ones, Sadow still manages to outsmart and kill him for good by using a kamikaze ship to destroy Kressh's ship.
* TheRival: To Naga Sadow.Sadow for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith after Marka Ragnos' death. Unfortunately for him Sadow outmatches him in terms of cunning.
* ThanatosGambit: Pulls one at the beginning of the Great Hyperspace War, by faking his death by his personal ship destroyed by Sadow's forces, only for him to have not being inside it and taking advantage of Naga Sadow and the other Sith Lords' absence during the war to take power and proclaim himself as Dark Lord of the Sith.

Deader Than Dead is the more correct trope. Fate Worse Than Death is more like what happens to Exar Kun.

* DeaderThanDead: [[spoiler: Exar Kun destroys his force spirit, essentially wiping him from existence.]]

* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: Exar Kun destroys his force spirit, essentially wiping him from existence.]]

* TheLostLenore: Cathar only ever take one mate, and if that mate dies young, they cannot take another. Not only does Sylvar have to grieve Crado's choices and untimely death, she's also lost the chance to start a family, which also grieves her.
