* BadassInDistress: Anzu has a no nonsense attitude that makes her hard to approach, and makes anyone who interacts with her to respect her because she's not one to back down. However, when she sees a roach in her house, [[EekAMouse she's reduced to hysterics]] and has to bring in Tsukasa to squash it. When an underwear thief breaks into her house, she scares him off, but it's Junta who takes him down and holds him until the police arrest the pervert. When [[spoiler: Yukana tracks down Tsukasa and starts to stalk him again]], Anzu gets her to back off, but she's then cornered by two thugs, though luckily, with the intervention of Riri, Junta, Ryuya, Saki and her older brother, and Tsukiya sans Hajiri arrive [[JustInTime in the nick of time]], and beat up the thugs who confess that [[spoiler: they were hired by Yukana to ambush Anzu]]. When [[spoiler: Yukana decided that [[MurderTheHypotenuse it's best to confront Anzu and get her away from her beloved Tsuakasa once and for all]], Yukana rushes Anzu and slashes her forehead with a knife]]. Though [[DeclarationOfProtection Anzu stands her ground and declares that she would never leave Tsukasa's side]], it's ultimately Arisa and Tsuaka that [[spoiler: disarm Yukana and make sure she stays put until the police arrive]].

* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: He gets his way by using his fortune to buy whatever, [[BuyThemOff and even anyone]], he wants, with the exception of [[ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou Anzu, whom he becomes attracted to because he can't brive her]] into [[ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules being his girlfriend]]. At the end of the story, he uses his connections, or more likely his wealth, to pressure Yukana's uncle to make sure his niece stays locked up this time for stalking Tsukasa and, more importantly, [[MurderTheHypotenuse trying to kill Anzu]].

A mascot-type {{Mon}} wizard who was sent to assist Anzu in pursuing romance. He appears to be cunning and manipulative; resorting to anything possible just so Anzu can encounter shōjo manga-like situations. He can shapeshift into a boy, going by Rio, or a girl, named Riri (he often goes by this name even in wizard form), claiming either to be Anzu's "cousin", and often uses either of these forms to spur Anzu along or spark jealousy between candidates.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Riri can be quite goofy and looks like he can't cause much harm, but if you hurt or try to kill Anzu, he'll drop his silliness and use his magic to severely punish you for it.
* BeyondTheImpossible: It's never stated how far his magic can go, but he can change the weather, teleport objects and/or himself, survive things that should hurt ''a lot'' more, can fly, and [[spoiler:can erase memories]], though that last one breaks one of the artificial rules they and other wizards follow. And if he breaks too many of those rules, he'll be forced to go back to his universe and never come back to Earth, [[spoiler:which ends up being the case in the show's final episode]]. The only known limit of his powers is that if his wand gets contaminated, he cannot use his magic for a limited time.

* BreakingTheFourthWall: He narrates the series, talks directly to the viewers, and even tells the viewers not to skip the end credits if they want to see the PostCreditsScene.
* ButtMonkey: To Anzu's aggression and insults. He also gets constantly abused by her in some sort of way whenever he arrives.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: With his odd appearances of him coming out of nowhere and GenreSavvy knowledge on LoveTropes, he comes off as this to whoever he meets.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: In both human forms, his eye color is a blend of purple and light blue rather than matching his hair color, and his eyes are shinier than most other characters.
* TheGadfly: Teases and provokes Anzu almost all the time. This makes Anzu abuse him in many different ways.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Riri is often manipulative and cunning towards Anzu, forcefully making her get into romantic situations. But he actually cares a lot about Anzu and the others. he saves Anzu from a near-death situation twice. (the first time, when Anzu was about to be jumped, he called everyone to stop the thugs. And the second time, after Yukana was put behind bars, she arrives to violate her rules and erase Yukana's memories to prevent further harm to Anzu) As Rio, he says his final goodbyes to Anzu before giving her her three desires back in return to never arrive to Earth ever again. This was short-lived, however, since Anzu forced Kate to bring him back and make him her (potential) romantic candidate.

* PerpetualSmiler: In all 3 forms, no matter what emotion he's experiencing, he smiles. Well, [[TranquilFury unless you've gone too far...]]

* SecretIdentity: He's capable of disguising himself as a human, be it male or female, to more directly help (or provoke) Anzu.
* SquishyWizard: Can mess with time, use his magic to change the climate, and even erase memories, but he's noticeably easy to throw around and hurt (Mostly by Anzu). Apparently, even in human form, she's surprisingly light.

* HateSink: Even if she was bullied at work, she is still an adult woman who at best is a mentally ill stalker and at worst is a child predator and attempted child murderer. It doesn't help that her mother constantly had her brother/brother-in-law (and Yukana's uncle) bail her out while [[{{BlamingTheVictim}} blaming Tsukasa]] accusing him of stringing her daughter along, even considering suing the boy.

* AssholeVictim: A surprising downplayed one. She was bullied at work, and grew obsessed with Tsukasa after he helped her up once when she fell. Despite having a restraining order against her, and later getting arrested, the worst she suffers is LaserGuidedAmnesia by a pissed off Riri. In the anime, Kate is seen looking for her new subject to play cupid for, which is implied to be Yukana.

* BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood: After she gets locked up in a mental hospital and made to stay there, thanks to Hijiri's connections, Yukana remains obsesed with Tsukasa, so Riri decides to pay her a visit in her cell. Later, it's revealed that Yukana has lost her memories of Tsukasa, and Kate tells Anzu, Tsukasa, and Junta that Riri was punished for using their magic to erase a person's memory, a major crime that resulted in Riri nearly being sentenced to cleaning the wizard's [=HQ's=] basement for life.

* HateSink: Even if she was bullied at work, she is still an adult woman who at best is a mentally ill stalker and at worst is a child predator and attempted child murderer. However, her mother is even more of a hate sink, as she constantly has her brother/brother-in-law bail her out while [[{{BlamingTheVictim}} blaming Tsukasa]] accusing him of stringing her daughter along, even considering suing the boy.

* AmbiguousGender: It's unknown what gender Riri is. He's often referred to by they/them or he/him. He also has two human forms that are the opposite gender, making it even more ambiguous. Anzu often refers to both human forms as their appropriate gender (he/him for Rio, and she/her for Riri).
