* AdaptationNameChange: Lynette was renamed Kayley in the film adaptation.
* AdaptationalNiceGirl: The original book counterpart Lynette was generally rude and assumed that Gareth was a kitchen boy. In the film adaptation, Kayley is more polite to Garrett when she firsts meets him and is more sympathetic when she discovers his blindness.

* LetsGetDangerous: While spending most of her time having to evade from Ruber's thugs, Kayley does manage to trap Ruber and his men by using one of the Trenants while in the middle of rescuing an injured Garrett. The crowning moment comes in the climax when Kayley sees Ruber trying to kill Arthur and hearing him gloating the murder of her father, she immediately climbs up the scaffolding and swings down on a wooden beam tied to a rope where she knocks Ruber away from the king. When seeing the Stone, Kayley keeps her attention locked on Ruber as she lures him over there to use the technique Garrett taught her earlier. She reveals her plan to Garrett once he joins her, and they manage to defeat Ruber by tricking the evil knight to return Excalibur back into The Stone where he gets vaporised.

* NiceGirl: She is a kind and caring young woman.

* TookALevelInBadass: Starts off as inexperienced, but Kayley advances her skills with Garrett teaching her the self defense technique which she uses [[LetsGetDangerous as part of her plan to defeat Ruber in the climax.]]

* DisabilitySuperpower: While blind, but he is able to navigate the forest in combat better than most seeing peers. This was partly from training from Sir Lionel, but it also implied that his blindness enhanced his hearing and touch, making him more atuned to his surroundings.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Garrett may be sarcastic and rude to Kayley when she first meets after he saves her from the ironmen, he does have a right to complain about his ruined fishing net that took him six weeks to make and makes valid points in his IAmSong about the nature of the forest to Kayley, who is new to the forest due to her inexperience and naivety. Also, he does gets annoyed with Kayley's constant rambling where he finally requests her to shut up at one point while they are in Dragon Country.

* NiceGuy: He is caring to his family and acts as a surrogate father to Garrett where he is only one who still believed in him and trained Garrett personally.

* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: He is one of the most kindhearted knights in the film and the Arthurian myths by extensions. Sadly, brave and noble men don't fare well against the likes of Ruber.

A GDV is more 'villain as force of nature'. Ruber may have a very simple personality and motive, but he's got far too much presence for this trope.

* EvilIsHammy: The man's an absolute AxCrazy loon, and he, the animators, and his voice actor make sure everyone within ten square miles knows it.

* FlatCharacter: He's an AxCrazy narcissist who thinks everything should belong to him. That's it. His screentime is less about giving him CharacterDevelopment, and more about exploring exactly how far down the rabbithole of lunatic egomania he's gone.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Ruber wants to rule over Camelot and beyond and that's pretty much it. He's incredibly vague about what exactly that entails, but he's insistent that everything will be his down to the very stones in the road.

* AxCrazy: He is clearly an unstable blood knight. His first scene shows him starting a bloody ruckus at the Round Table.
