* ContraltoOfDanger: She is an ActionGirl who speaks in a low husky voice.

* DistressedDamsel: Is accidentally knocked into the crassigyrinus pool and rendered in need of rescue during ''South of Heaven''. Fortunately for her, Leon is quick to come to her rescue (with Andrias the proterogyrinus ending up also summoned into the area to provide additional assistance).

* DeadpanSnarker: Proves himself one of these in ''South of Heaven''.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Shows signs of this with Nikolai due to considering him a little too paranoid about the possibility of potential threats amongst the animals rescued. This doesn't stop him though from agreeing with Nikolai on a 'special plan' for security though.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Kyle shows signs of having this towards him over supposedly being too paranoid about potential threats. Nikolai, meanwhile, seems a little annoyed in ''Novum Initium'' over the fact that Kyle and Linda (and, by extension, the rest of the keepers and vets) got the necessary data dossiers on the known possible animals to rescue before he and the rest of the security force did. It is also later explicitly stated in the narrative in ''Oozing From the Pit'' that the enmity is very much mutual on both sides. * ActorAllusion: Just like in ''Fanfic/PrehistoricEarth'', just make [[Film/{{Thor}} Heimdall]], [[Series/{{Luther}} John Luther]], or [[WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}} Captain Bogo]] an ordinary earthling human who works as a head zookeeper instead of an Asgardian gatekeeper, chief detective inspector, or cape buffalo police captain, and you have [[Creator/IdrisElba Kyle]].

The park's head-vet with a history of past veterinary work at several accredited zoos. Tasked with treating the injured and sick animals and likewise looking after their health.

* ActorAllusion: [[Creator/ScarlettJohansson Linda]] is once again a NiceGirl working [[Film/WeBoughtAZoo at a zoo]].
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Had a close bond with Cirrus the ornithocheirus in Prehistoric Earth. Here, she appears to have only interacted with Cirrus the [[AdaptationalSpeciesChange Quetzalcoatlus]] as much as was absolutely needed over the course of giving him the medical treatment he needed after his rescue.
* AscendedExtra: While still occasionally given several scenes in the limelight, plus a bond with Cirrus, in ''Prehistoric Earth'', she largely didn't get nearly as much time in the spotlight as Kyle and Nikolai and was almost completely DemotedToExtra in the story's third and final 'season'. Here, she is very much a key player in the story who gets multiple scenes devoted to her throughout the main story as well as the spinoff ''Extras''.
* AwesomeDearBoy: While already intrigued by the possibility of 'new horizons', she finds Theodore's offer to work as Prehistoric Park's chief veterinarian impossible to pass up once she learns that it means getting to work with dinosaurs and other extinct prehistoric animals in the flesh.

* ShipperOnDeck: Judging by her thoughts over the course of seeing the two undergoing an apparent mating ritual, she appears to be this for [[BirdsOfAFeather Rommel and Otrera the dimetrodon pair]].
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Is the only woman amongst the park's four chiefs of staff.

Former Spetsnaz agent turned head of security at Prehistoric Park.

* ActorAllusion: This isn't [[Series/StrangerThings the first time]] (or even [[Film/BlackWidow2021 the second time]] for that matter) [[Creator/DavidHarbour Nikolai]] has served as TheBigGuy of a team or served as a ParentalSubstitute for a troubled girl with a complicated family past.
* TheAtoner: He explicitly views Prehistoric Park as a chance to start over in life via working at a place of life where he can work to save things instead of killing them after having spent many years before getting hired by Theodore as a bringer of death for the Spetsnaz.
* TheBigGuy: The most physically combat capable of the park's four heads of staff.
* BoysLikeCreepyCritters: Loved capturing and releasing insects when he was a child.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: As tough and merciless as he looks on the outside, he's actually a very decent person on the inside once you get to know him.
* BrutalHonesty: He makes no secret how dangerous he considers multiple animals at the park to be and how important it is for him and the other security guards, plus the other staff, to be on their toes and at the ready for any potential problems or danger to unfold.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: 0h yes. His parents and sister were all dead by the time he was twenty-one - his father from a sniper when Nikolai waa just a toddler, his mother hit by a drunk driver and his sister abducted, raped and murdered. As a result of his exeriences in the Spetsnaz, he lost multiple friends, gained multiple physical and mental scars and a boatload of guilt. And that's just what he's willing to allow people to know.
* DrowningMySorrows: As can typically be expected from most ex-soldiers without direction, he chose to cope with his past by drinking himself into oblivion. He eventually stopped doing this when [[BigGood Theodore]] came into the picture.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has multiple scars from his past in the Spetsnaz, with some of the more notable ones being positioned on his forehead and arm. And while he may look rather imposing, he's a decent fellow once you've gotten to know him and earned his trust.
* GuestStarPartyMember: Tags along with the rescue team during ''Ice Time''.
* HiddenDepths: During a quiet conversation scene he has with Jack at the end of ''Alien Empire'', he reveals himself to be a NiceGuy underneath his tough and stoic exterior, to have greatly enjoyed catching and releasing insects when he was a child, and to enjoy listening to a large variety of music.
* InterspeciesFriendship: Seems to get along well with and have formed a small bond with Felix the arthropleura. He also forms a strong companionship with [[HonorableElephant Martha the woolly mammoth]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Can come across as a little excessively paranoid and gruff, but is actually not a bad person underneath it all.
* JumpedAtTheCall: As much as his past in the Spetsnaz affected him, he was not so badly affected as to turn down the offer to work as Prehistoric Park's chief of security when Theodore offered as much.
* MotherRussiaMakesYouStrong: It clearly made him strong enough to work in the Spetsnaz and live to tell the tale (though he usually prefers not to) before getting hired to work at Prehistoric Park.
* NeverGotToSayGoodbye: He never got to say goodbye to his mother or his sister, who both died - the former hit by a drunk driver when Nikolai was seventeen and the latter abducted, raped and murdered when Nikolai was away serving. It's clear that both haunt him greatly.
* OlderThanTheyLook: As Drew notes, he looks fairly young for someone in his early 50s.
* ParentalSubstitute: Collete considers him the closest thing to a father she's ever had, and he himself happily considers her to be his surrogate daughter.
* ProperlyParanoid: Considering just what kind of animals the park will be working with, he's not entirely wrong to be wary of potential threats.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: While understandably on guard over potential threats, he's not incapable of accepting a workable plan or system, as Leon and the rescue team can attest.
* TheStoic: Gives off a vibe of not showing off more emotion than absolutely necessary.
* SurvivorGuilt: As unsettled as he feels about all the people he's killed, he also feels equally unhappy about all the comrades he had in the Spetsnaz that ended up dying while he was helpless to do anything to save them.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Kyle shows signs of having this towards him over supposedly being too paranoid about potential threats. * AbsentMindedProfessor: Played with in that he's first introduced focusing more on a book he's reading than on everyone else around him when the staff meeting at the beginning of ''Novum Initium'' begins, but proves himself to have in fact been paying attention when he later brings up the very real possibility of encountering animals not yet known to science.
* AFatherToHisMen: Has a very close, though also occasionally stern, father-like bond to his three most trusted younger assistants.
* AscendedExtra: Never even got the chance to ''speak'' during his first ever appearance in Prehistoric Earth, and got arguably only a single full 'episode' of undergoing the planned prominence he was originally supposed to have in that story. Here, he very much plays a prominent role throughout multiple episodes in both the main story as well as the spinoff ''Extras''.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: Is smart enough and careful enough in his observations to take note of multiple important, and sometimes seemingly insignificant, details; occasionally even noticing details that ''Leon'' misses on first glance.
* AwesomeDearBoy: The fact that he'd get the chance to study prehistoric animals as living and breathing flesh and blood animals and finally answer questions that had proven impossible to answer via study of just the bones and other remains proved a heavy motivator for his accepting Theodore's offer to be the chief of Prehistoric Park's research division.
* BrutalHonesty: Tact is not his strong suit.
* DeadpanSnarker: Sometimes.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Like the other chiefs of staff, he took very little convincing to accept the offer to work at Prehistoric Park.
* ParentalSubstitute: Is revealed to have started taking care of a pair of abandoned ornithomimus eggs in ''The D-Bags''.
* ProperlyParanoid: Considering how the rescue team ends up bringing at least two undiscovered pterosaurs, plus several undiscovered prehistoric mammals, back to the park in only the first mission, he wasn't entirely wrong to check to see if they'd planned on what to do in the event of such a possibility.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Much like his fellow chiefs of staff, he's perfectly capable of accepting a reasonable plan or explanation suggested by his coworkers and underlings.
* SeenItAll: After about two weeks' worth of incidents involving the compsognathus escaping from their exhibit, he is no longer surprised outside of brief bafflement when he finds a trio of the little dinosaurs in his office after a recent escape. He's still excitably flabbergasted though whenever a species undiscovered in the fossil record is discovered alive and brought through the portal though.
* TheSmartGuy: Amongst the park's heads of staff. Being the chief of the park's research division, it only makes sense he's this.

Linda's direct assistant in the Prehistoric Park veterinary division.

* ActorAllusion: This isn't the first time Yolanda has been involved in something that required her to work with [[Film/TransformersAgeOfExtinction dinosaurs]] (although these dinosaurs are flesh and blood instead of alien robots).
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: In ''Prehistoric Earth'', she was never really shown to undergo any signs of hiding any secret inner pain or trauma in the slightest. Here, she's heavily implied in 'phase/season 2' to be harboring some rather unhappy memories from a less than pleasant experience she underwent prior to getting hired to work at the park that she [[StepfordSmiler actively tries desperately to suppress so as to avoid breaking down from the trauma]].
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Was never really shown to interact that much (if at all) with Alice and Jack in Prehistoric Earth (although the former at least turned out to know her well enough to answer some important questions about her that Leon at one point ended up asking). Here, she's explicitly described in the narrative to have ended up becoming very close friends with both of the Denham siblings.
* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: Compared to her ''Fanfic/PrehistoricEarth'' counterpart, she's a bit more of a spitfire.
* AllLovingHeroine: While not the main hero of the story, she generally makes a concerted effort to see the best in everyone she works with, human and animal alike.

While she's very much genuine in her happy go lucky GenkiGirl image, it is heavily hinted that something very unpleasant happened to her in the past when she was first attending veterinary school and that she actively tries her damnedest to suppress her memories of this experience.

* ActionGirl: Considering her job, she's definitely one of these. And even though she hasn't actually demonstrated as much yet, the impression she gives off at a staff meeting is enough to make Drew have no reason to question her status as one.
* AloofAlly: While arguably on the same side as all the other staff members, she largely acts rather aloof and seemingly antisocial towards any people she doesn't already have a close working relationship with. This behavior however largely doesn't exactly endear her to most of the staff outside the security division.
* AscendedExtra: Aside from being Jack's LoveInterest, she was given comparatively little to do in ''Fanfic/PrehistoricEarth''. Here, she gets a lot of focus in both the main story and spinoff Extras, while also having exactly the kind of JerkWithAHeartOfGold ActionGirl personality she was originally supposed to have in Prehistoric Earth.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Since Jack is largely one of the few staff members outside the security division that treats her nicely and actually understands the true nature of her seemingly haughty and antisocial {{Jerkass}} behavior, she returns the favor by being nice to him and letting him see her hidden soft side.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Is a no nonsense ActionGirl and largely gives off a ImNotHereToMakeFriends vibe, but appears to have a hidden soft center that she's willing, for some reason or other, to allow Jack to have rare glimpses of when they interact.
* ClosetGeek: Lightly implied to be this in ''Hell's Labyrinth'' when she ends up recognizing a reference Jack makes to ''Series/{{Firefly}}''. Jack [[LampshadeHanging very swiftly makes note of this fact]].

* FascinatingEyebrow: Immediately raises her eyebrow in ''Novum Initium'' upon noticing that there was only one copy of the mission's 'animal dossier' in the folder containing it despite Leon claiming he'd made two (the first of which had already been given to Kyle quite a while earlier).
* {{Foil}}: To Leon. Both of them can come across as rather antisocial and aloof and have a small group of close companions. Leon, however, is much more willing to try to add new members to his group of companions, does not at all try to hide what people he feels comfortable and happy to be in the company of, and rarely ever intends to make himself look as antisocial as he sometimes comes across to be. Colette, on the other hand, deliberately puts on an antisocial and aloof front, is a lot more slow in allowing herself to consider allowing new additions to her group of close companions, and usually tries to keep those she considers close friends and how happy she feels when around them a secret from everyone else.
* HeIsNotMyBoyfriend: Expresses this viewpoint in regards to Jack when Yolanda playfully teases her on perhaps having a crush on him over the course of ''Building Bridges''.

* AbusiveParents: Her parents did very little (if anything) to discourage the divide that ensued between her and her older sister Tina. In fact, they often openly encouraged them into going against each other and seemed to almost always favor Tina.
* ActorAllusion: [[Film/TheLastJedi Once again]], Creator/KellyMarieTran plays a character with an older sibling she's in some way considered 2nd fiddle to. Likewise, this same character also forms a close friendship with a character (this time hypothetically) portrayed by Creator/JohnBoyega.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Is often compared rather unfavorably to Tina.
* AsianAndNerdy: Is of Vietnamese descent and is at least intellectually competent enough to work as a keeper at Prehistoric Park.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Despite their current troubled sibling dynamics, Cass still loves Tina, wants them both to be happy working at Prehistoric Park, and hopes for them to someday have a much more improved relationship between them.
* BigSisterBully: Her older sister Tina is implied to have been an emotional variant of this.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Heavily implied to have bonded with and befriended Horace over how they both work with animals that several other keeper divisions consider 'boring and easy'.

* InterspeciesFriendship: Has developed a bit of a bond with Einstein the pachycephalosaurus, although this doesn't stop her from getting annoyed whenever he tries to steal and eat her apples (and especially so if he ''succeeds''). She has also developed a similar close bond with Theo the triceratops.
* NoRespectGuy: As far as Horace is aware, the fact that she is an ornithischian specialist (a keeper division with very similar work as that done by the hoofstock specialists) is enough for her to qualify as this amongst some of the other 'more glamorous' keeper divisions. And it is implied that they [[BirdsOfAFeather bond over this unfortunate stigma]].
* PetTheDog: She and Horace both prove willing to allow Leon to work with them and their respective animal keeper divisions when they notice both how he genuinely wishes to help and improve his skills as well as how his current reputation as '[[TheLoad the useless one]]' has caused the staff to treat him in ways fairly similar to the overall lack of respect her and Horace's divisions receive.
* ShipTease: Starts receiving this with Horace in ''The D-Bags''.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Loves to eat an apple for lunch every day. Unfortunately, this is a fact that Einstein the pachycephalosaurus proves well aware of once he gets a taste of this fruit himself.

And she's certainly not one to feel ashamed of her own accomplishments either.
