At the moment, she's shorter than her son, who is the third shortest boy in his class.
* MyGreatestFailure: When Izuku first found out that he would never have a Quirk, and thus could never be a hero, his greatest dream, he had a full-on breakdown. Instead of telling him that he could still try to be one, she too broke down, hugging him and crying while telling him how sorry she was. After Izuku gains admittance to U.A., she tells him how sorry she is for acting that way and that she'll fully support him no matter what.
* NiceGirl: Inko is generally compassionate, hospitable, and polite. It's not hard to see where Izuku's kindness stems from.

The Todoroki family borders on this as they are a family formed from Endeavor desiring an heir to surpass All Might as a hero so he looked to a Quirk marriage to breed a perfect successor to his legacy. Flash forward to the present, Endeavor tries to atone for his domestic abuse of his family after achieving his goal only by technicality. However, the family has to deal with the fall out of the Paranormal Liberation War where [[spoiler:they discover their thought-to-be-deceased eldest child Toya, is actually alive and has become the notorious League of Villains member known as Dabi and has broadcast the family's dark past to the public to destroy his father's hero career and reputation. It doesn't help that Endeavor and Shoto must fight the Paranormal Liberation Front again and confront Dabi, where Dabi is prepared to die and kill both his brother and father as revenge against Endeavor's past sins.]]

Meanwhile, [[spoiler:Toya]], Fuyumi, and Natsuo were considered as "failed creations" by Endeavor and had massive amounts of parental neglect to endure, to the point that Natsuo claimed he barely has any memories of his old man despite living in the same house as him for years.
* DysfunctionalFamily: Because of Endeavor, every Todoroki carries their own share of emotional baggage. Rei's psychiatrists recommended that she shouldn't meet him, Shoto hates him as a person but respects his professional skill and Natsuo openly hates him. [[spoiler:On the extreme side, Toya wants to kill the guy after breaking him emotionally.]] Only Fuyumi seems to have nothing personal against her father, though she'd later confess to Shoto that she feels the same way as Natsuo. Her family situation still distresses her and she eventually admits that she feels guilty for only wanting to keep the appearance of a good family. In fact, Fuyumi's attempts to bring the family back together was only for Rei to have a home to return to.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Toya can all be spotted in one of Shoto's flashbacks in Chapter 39 of the manga and Episode 23 of the anime before officially debuting in the present later.

* SatelliteFamilyMember: As a consequence of only being a supporting/background characters in the overall plot and having no significance outside from the family drama plot, Rei, Fuyumi, and Natsuo are exactly this to Enji, [[spoiler:Toya]], and Shoto. Made painfully clear during the Final War arc, as the three civilian Todoroki only made small appearances in some of the chapters that have focus on either of the three main plot relevant Todoroki, and only comes to prominence when the family drama plot reaching its climax.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: The Todoroki can't help but overshare their family drama. It even became an in-joke with the fans dubbing it "[[FamilyDrama Keeping up with the Todoroki]]".
** Shoto's [[EasilyOverheardConversation conversation]] with Midoriya during the Sports Festival had him spilling about the circumstances of his parents' [[ArrangedMarriage Quirk marriage]] and how it was all for his father to have his perfect heir. Bakugo was only right around the corner, unintentionally [[ExactEavesdropping eavesdropping their conversation]].
** While having Midoriya and Bakugo over for dinner, Fuyumi and Shoto's conversation while cleaning up the dinner table was overheard by the two guests, which Bakugo reprimand them for. Shoto's mother and the wife of Enji Todoroki, the Pro Hero Endeavor. Her marriage to Enji is one of mutual benefit where her family, the Himura, gains financial support while Enji gets the means to sire a child with the [[SuperPowerLottery ideal Quirk]] to fulfill his ambition of surpassing All Might. Due to Endeavor becoming obsessed with his goals, the family dynamics turn toxic. Endeavor's mistreatment of Rei and their children took a heavy toll on her sanity, which led to her scarring the left side of Shoto's face in a MomentOfWeakness because of his growing resemblance to Endeavor. ** The biggest similarity between them is they are both responsible for turning one of their children into a villain.
