* PlatonicLifePartners: Seems to be this with Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 3. Besides his father, she is the character he concerns himself the most with, he is able to have honest confrontations with her, is now able to read her movements and predict her arguments and, most importantly, is fully willing to be emotionally open with her, a far cry from his hesitance to be vulnerable in the previous film. It's clear that they've reached a point where they have no more secrets between them.

* CoolBigSis: Becomes Seems to become something like this to Po in the second movie, wanting to be a source of comfort to him through the story, while also not being afraid of acting bossy and giving him orders (for his own good, of course). Played straight with Lei Lei in the third film, who instantly adores her. Tigress doesn't even mind the baby panda riding on her head and appears to genuinely enjoy training her, as well as playing with her.

* PlatonicLifePartners: By Kung Fu Panda 3, she seems to be this with Po. They're familiar enough to read each other's movements, know each other well enough to know what the other will do/say, are comfortable enough being honest and confrontational with each other and are able to show emotional vulnerability, a far cry from Po's hesitance to show Tigress his true feelings in the previous movie.

I can see why people may not like seeing Po struggle against the weasels, or outright lose to Luthera who wasn't even a legit knight but I don't think Forouzan belongs on this list as an example of why Po's been nerfed in an adaptation, considering she's outright considered The Dreaded and a Pirate Queen who's had many high seas battles since the days of Mr. Ping being a young goose and has remained active even onto present day when she first met Po. Out of all the people Po has struggled against, it makes perfect sense he'd had some trouble with her considering how experienced of a swashbuckler she was.

* AdaptationalWimp: In Dragon Knight he starts out as not quite as formidable in battle as he usually is, being bested by many characters who aren't quite on the level of some of the Kung Fu masters he's fought across the franchise, his ability to take hits is also severely downplayed as characters like Veruca, Klaus, Weimin and Forouzan tend to easily stagger and hurt him without much effort and gets quickly defeated by Luthera in their first encounter. It's at least partly implied that it is because he's out of shape for most of the series and does slightly tone down his losses later on.

At the end of the movie it is precisely Tigress describing herself as Po's friend, rather than a more romantic title, that ultimately ends up saving him.

Many even compared their dynamic to that of a married couple! By the end of the movie, however, Tigress saves Po's life by describing herself as his friend, showing her love for him is platonic.
