* BreakTheCutie: Through ''several chapters'' in ''Uprising''.

** And then comes Chapter 20, where some of his insecurities are let loose as Palutena continues to berate him for being useless and naive. When he finally saves her from the Chaos Kin, though, he has to watch as her soul is ripped out of her and she turns to stone.
** Then he spends Chapter 21 trying to get Palutena's soul back and succeeds with the help of Dark Pit, and the Chaos Kin wanted to make sure Pit suffered and tried to take Dark Pit down with him. Pit's response is to dive in and save him, causing his wings to burn up in the process.
** Finally, even though Chapter 23 treats Pit's SanitySlippage moment lightly when Hades eats him alive, given what happened in the previous chapters, it's not hard to think Pit has actually lost it.
* BrokenAngel: His wings burn up in Chapter 21, when he saves Dark Pit from Chaos Kin.

* FanDisservice: He gets a ShirtlessScene in Chapter 21... because his tunic is burnt up along with his wings, and his wings being burnt have left him critically ill. It flips back into {{Fanservice}} in the next chapter when he's revived via the Rewind Spring, where he shows off quite a muscular physique for someone who looks so young.

* HoldingBothSidesOfTheConversation: His doing this in Chapter 23 makes it very clear that the Gods constant deriding of him is having a negative effect, because during this time when he's inside Hades and thus cut off from them, he subs ''himself'' in for them because of how used he is to their banter. His Viridi impersonation is an obvious mockery, but his Palutena impersonation is disturbingly accurate in wording.

* NeverLearnedToRead: By his own admission, in the English localization.[[note]]In the Japanese version, he instead says that he wanted to die with a full belly.[[/note]] This gets a nod in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', where his Star KO voice clip is quoting the trope verbatim.

* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: With Hades, of all people. When Palutena first uses "Pittoo" for Dark Pit's nickname, Pit immediately thinks "Ptooey" would be better, but he's ignored. "Pitooey" just so happens to also be ''Hades''' choice of nickname for the dark doppelganger.

** In ''Uprising'', Pit cannot fly at all and can only be granted the power of flight for a total of five minutes, after which he cannot fly for a time, but the game gives contradictory explanations. The later chapters of the game make a big deal about the five-minute limitation being a flaw of the wings themselves, which burn up if they're overused[[note]]It's implied that they may contain his lifeforce, or at least that he can't live without them. When he burns his wings to the bone, it nearly kills him. Part of the reason Palutena wants to heal him so badly is certainly that he loved to fly and wanted nothing more than to fly on his own, but it seems like having burnt wings is quite literally killing him and the only way to save him is to restore his wings.[[/note]], but in Chapter 6, while discussing the apparently unlimited Power of Flight Dark Pit stole from Pandora, some conversation indicates the short time frame is a weakness of Palutena's gift itself and that the power is depleted after five minutes.
