->Primary character of [=PeabodySam=]

Originally intended as [[TheInfiltration XERRD's infiltrator in Dino Attack Team]], Rex instead suffered from LaserGuidedAmnesia [[spoiler:due to sabotage by [[ReverseMole Frank Einstein]]]] and wound up BecomingTheMask. Rex quickly became known for being a WideEyedIdealist who preferred [[FluffyTamer catching and taming]] [[PrehistoricMonster the mutant dinosaurs]] instead of hunting and killing them, although [[GrayingMorality the war gradually caused him to take on a more cynical outlook]]. As an elite agent, Rex rose to the role of TheLeader and became a hero in the eyes of many of his fellow Dino Attack agents.

* [[spoiler:BodyHorror: Maelstrom energy took root in Rex's body and slowly poisoned him; Zachary Virchaus described the Maelstrom as though they were tendrils wrapped around Rex's Creative Spark, and one can only imagine what it would have actually looked like. After his Creative Spark was extracted, the Darkitect [[DemonicPossession possessed his body]], causing the tendrils of Maelstrom energy to spring out from his body. Zachary turned the Maelstrom's destructive energies against itself, causing Rex's body to age at an accelerated rate and ultimately decay into dust before the Maelstrom collapsed upon itself.]]

A young American who was left on LEGO Island at a young age for the safety of his unborn siblings, Zachary Virchaus joined the Dino Attack as an Agent before dropping out and joining the Dino Attack Team, hoping to make a difference. He did end up making a name for himself during his first mission, though [[FaceHeelTurn not in the way he intended]].

* BerserkButton: WordOfGod says Dr. Cyborg does ''not ''like it when people make references to [[ThoseWackyNazis certain dictorial groups]] or [[AllGermansAreNazis anything else related to that]] to him. So don't do it.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In a similar situation as Rex, Dr. Cyborg started off a a very idealist agent, thanks to his XERRD background. However, as the game went on, this devolved until it wasn't mentioned much at all.

A cold-blooded, tough-as-nails mercenary who doesn't care about anything except his own life and his money.

* AssholeVictim: When Trigger [[spoiler:died]], he was rather unpopular in the RPG.
* BadassDriver: [[InformedAbility Supposedly]] one of the reasons he was hired by Dino Attack Team.

* DirtyCoward: For someone who takes his jobs so seriously that anyone who interferes must die, Trigger has no problem walking out on his most important job of all time and deserting the Dino Attack Team... ''during the FinalBattle''... and tries to justify it as the money not being worth it.

* {{Foil}}: When Atton Rand started planning his new primary character, he intentionally tried to make the exact opposite of Zenna. She is a woman, the new character's a man. Zenna was a kind and compassionate idealist, the new guy is a cold, selfish realist. Zenna actually cared for the good of her planet and the cause of the team, he doesn't give a [[PardonMyKlingon znap]] and is only in it for the money. The result was the character of Trigger, whom he found a lot more enjoyable.

* HiredGuns: Trigger isn't really an agent so much as a mercenary who's willing to fight with them because he was offered money.
* InformedAbility: Trigger is described as cold and logical, but all of his actions so far have shown him to be hotheaded and almost entirely ruled by emotion.
** Trigger was hired by Dino Attack Team for his driving skills... and we've ''never'' seen him behind the wheel.
*** Made even more ironic by the fact that in the flashback it was shown that Sindstorme had already hired Montoya to act as the designated driver (and ultimately the getaway driver during the heist- though in fairness this was because Trigger was the one leading the men into the building- someone had to be on lookout, and be ready to go quickly if something went wrong).

* AntiHero: Rotor would probably qualify as Type IV.
* BattleCouple: Rotor and Cabin definitely come close to qualifying [[spoiler: at least until the war ended]].
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Rotor was initially introduced in the Alpha Team RPG as a companion to Zenna whose primary role was simply that of a helicopter pilot who could get her and other agents to and from places. While he may still have been a little over-enthusiastic about his job, he was still taking orders and a lot less aggressive, even saving the life of a stranded agent. Then he was introduced to the Dino Attack RPG, where he was suddenly leading squads of helicopters and even attempting to operate behind the backs of his superiors, becoming the tough, battle-hardened, aggressive, classical-music playing Elite Agent with whom most players are familiar.
* ColonelKilgore: The trope-naming character was a major inspiration, right down to his frequent habit of playing classical music while attacking his enemies.
* CoolShades
* DeathFromAbove: Pretty much any combat action once Rotor gets involved. Of course this should hardly come as a surprise to anyone who's seen ''ApocalypseNow'' and is familiar with Rotor's inspiration.
* [[spoiler:DidNotGetTheGirl: Rotor and Cabin's relationship didn't last long after the war ended]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: Rotor tried to make an example of a T-1 crew by having them executed because the pilot had refused an order to fire on the XERRD fortress while Dino Attack Agents were still inside.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[ApocalypseNow Lt. Colonel Kilgore]].
* {{Foil}}: Rotor, the aggressive commander who tries to think realistically and practically, putting his own personal morals aside and embracing the dark side of the war makes him the perfect {{foil}} for Zenna, the kind and compassionate idealist who thinks things through and puts her friends above all else. It's interesting to even note the two different fates of the characters, Zenna ended up paralyzed in one arm and with every bone in her body broken, while Rotor's so far made through most of the war without a scratch.
* GeneralRipper: Rotor comes dangerously close.

* HangingJudge: Rotor's already pretty aggressive on the battlefield. If you want the defendant to live, you should keep him out of the court room.
* JudgeJuryAndExecutioner: This is why you should keep Rotor out of the courtroom.
* KarmaHoudini: Rotor almost got punished for his court-martial, and only escaped after the camp was overrun by mutant dinos. Otherwise he's also more or less gotten away scot-free with ''torturing a child''.

* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: In the temple of Hotep III, Andrew's mind took a very dark turn. He had to fight hard to push back his dark conscious.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Hertz was introduced as a disposable agent who could fill in a gap created by Reptile's removal. [[RedShirt While intended as a character who could easily be killed off]], [[MauveShirt Hertz has gained a notable role in the RPG since his introduction]].

* HollywoodNerd: Type 2.
* InformedAbility: Hertz is said to be an expert in cryptology and [[CunningLinguist linguistics]] but has never exhibited this skill.
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Hertz was like this before he joined the Dino Attack Team, but he developed more social skills since working with them.
* NoIndoorVoice: After he lost his hearing having to speak loudly was an unfortunate side effect.
* SenseLossSadness: Hertz experienced a lot of angst after he was deafened by an explosion. Considering he was a radio operator it made him rather useless.

* TookALevelInBadass: After sustaining severe burns and a broken arm, Hertz killed a Mutant T-Rex with an oxygen tank and a low-power rifle.

Born to an alcoholic father and a drug addicted mother, Dust was grew up in a Bedouin tripe in Egypt. After killing his father he was taken under the wing of a professor at the Cairo museum where he became obsessed with his heritage and the pharaoh Hotep III. After he was fired from his afulent position Gahiji took the name Dust and swore to find the lost temple of Hotep III. Using his skills as a master manipulator Dust infiltrated the Dino attack and used their resources to locate the building

* HeelRealization: Dust had his HeelRealization at the last possible moment. While he stood atop the steps of the temple, he came to the sudden realization he was a jerk. [[spoiler:Sadly, he was shot moments later.]]
* ImpoverishedPatrician: Dust realized he was one after researching his genealogy. He was descended from the kings of Egypt but was born to an alcoholic father and a drug addicted mother. Both were horrible and pathetic people and dishonored the family name. When Dust left, the knowledge of his royal heritage was all he had.
* ImprobableAge: Dust became a respected archeologist at the Cairo museum at age 20.
* [[InformedJudaism Informed Islam]]: WordOfGod says Dust is Muslum, however there is no evidence that he follows the faith since he comes off as a skeptic and drinks liquor. Given his background, a rational explanation would be that he is of Islamic descent, and maybe grew up learning Islamic culture, but Dust himself is not very religious and so does not follow the all of standard traditions.

After the Dino Attack, Magma and Covert openly declared their love for one another, making this too explicit to be FoeRomanceSubtext.

An Alpha Team agent and technology expert, Kotua is a veteran of Mission Deep Freeze and one of the first Alpha Team agents to be assigned to Dino Attack Team. However, shortly into the Dino Attack, Kotua became BrainwashedAndCrazy and turned against the team, first abducting and killing agents with his CoolAirship, the ''Voltage'', then unleashing Chaos upon LEGOCity.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Kotua was not in control of his actions during his FaceHeelTurn, but instead secretly manipulated by [[TheChessmaster Chaos]].
* {{Expy}}: A mad, brilliant inventor in control of an airship, an army of robots, and a water monster powered by seven emeralds who later betrays him? Well, when you put it like that, Kotua certainly seems like an {{Expy}} of [[SonicTheHedgehog Dr. Eggman]].
* FaceHeelTurn: Although, [[BrainwashedAndCrazy as it was later confirmed]], it was against his will.
* FallenHero: He eventually managed to get back up, though.

->Primary character of Lewa Freakazoid

A Dino Attack agent who [[ChainPain wields a chain whip]] and [[SpeaksFluentAnimal understands a few Mutant Dino phrases]]. Dromus is notable for being the first [[ActionGirl female Dino Attack agent]] introduced in Dino Attack RPG, and is one of only two female primary characters.[[note]]The other being Zenna.[[/note]]

->Primary character of The Castle Gear

One of the first agents to sign up for the Dino Attack Team, Rev Raptor soon found that he had connections to the Dino Attack itself in ways that he could not have thought possible when he discovered that his father was a former XERRD scientist.

* ICannotSelfTerminate: In the original version of Rev Raptor's Heroic Suicide, he asked Banchicto to do the deed. However, since Banchicto was {{retcon}}ned into CanonDiscontinuity in order to work with modern RPG canon, this trope might no longer apply.
* InTheBlood: Rev Raptor was afraid that this trope would cause him to follow in the footsteps of his father Landro, so he committed [[HeroicSuicide suicide]] to prevent this from happening.

A teenager with a somewhat troubled background. Having been born to a single mother [[spoiler: because of an affair in a hospital]] whose brother was institutionalized soon after, Kate lived a hard life while her mother ran into massive financial troubles due to debts her brother owed. She later joined the team hoping to make something of her life, only to quickly end up in over her head in a conflict where she does not belong.

* AffirmativeActionGirl: Kate Bishop was introduced solely because Atton Rand noticed that all of his characters, sans Zenna and Elizabeth, were male.

Snake, who was an unrepentant criminal already charged with bank robbery who had attempted to desert, he would be a bit more lenient toward Montoya, a family man who attempted to kill the woman responsible for killing five of his partners.

However, between his SanitySlippage and [[spoiler:the manipulations of [[TheManBehindTheMan Baron Typhonus]]]], Dr. Rex delved into madness and soon led XERRD into the creation of the apocalypse itself. After a freak accident involving a body-switching machine, Dr. Rex found himself as one of the very [[TyrannosaurusRex Mutant T-Rexes]] he helped to create, but [[spoiler:at the complete loss of his freedom, leaving him a mere pawn of the Darkitect, although he refused to believe that it was true.]]

* BadassDriver: Unlike Trigger we actually get to see Montoya behind the wheel, seeing as he took on the job of the getaway driver during the Dacta Corp. ([[spoiler: the fact that he was keeping a lookout outside the building when Silencia's massacre happened was really the only reason he survived- presumably the men inside took priority, since she had to make sure they didn't get out with the documents, and she would have ambushed Montoya... or perhaps she would have just snuck out the back and left Montoya waiting all night since he posed no real threat to her task]]). This was especially evident when it came time for him and Trigger to make their escape, [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome and he had to navigate several busy streets while Silencia was climbing all over the car trying to kill him and Trigger]].
* ButNotTooEvil: Far from "evil", but the crimes he's been shown to commit (driving stolen vehicles, which he himself did not neccessarily steal; helping a criminal to escape from a heist gone wrong, covering for his partners) seem incredibly small compared to those of his partners. Of course this is discounting the fact that in the present-day he is guilty of attempted murder, but even then he couldn't bring himself to actually do it.
* {{Foil}}: In the flashback, Montoya serves as a {{foil}} to the other crooks, being the one man grounded by a sense of morality in contrast to the more professionalist attitude of the others. Schiess and the other crooks are depicted as cold-blooded killers simply in it for the money, while we get a glimpse into Montoya's personal life and see that he is merely trying to provide for his girlfriend and in fact wants to go clean after this one last job. This was alluded to in his interactions with the other crooks- while the other men are seen committing murder the most illegal things Montoya ever does is drive a stolen truck and stage an accident to cover for a murder, and possibly drive a stolen car in which he assists the escape of fugitives. (Yes, technically those are illegal but seem pretty small in comparison, especially given that, as the getaway driver, he waited outside while the actual heist was committed). [[ShoutOut He also called out his partner]] [[ReservoirDogs for refusing to pay a waitress's tip.]]
** This carries forward into the present, where Trigger becomes determined to kill Amanda out of a moral code that involves killing those who double-cross him, refusing to accept the fact that she has changed in the years since. Montoya is no less keen to see Silencia brought to justice, but on a personal level ''because'' of the people she killed. Unlike Trigger, however, Montoya is unable to shoot her in cold blood, and eventually comes to accept the fact that she has reformed and manages to forgive her.
* JustifiedCriminal: Montoya is just trying to provide for his girlfriend. He doesn't even do much that could be considered illegal aside from driving stolen vehicles (which he himself didn't steal), aiding the escape of a fellow convict, and covering for his partners. Seems pretty small given his partners are guilty of cold-blooded murder and property theft.

** Out of the seven crooks hired by Mindstorms Inc., three (Orange, Keaton, and Verbal) were named after characters from famous crime films, two (Scorse, Deniro) were named after people associated with crime films and one (Schiess, AKA Trigger) was named after a real-life mercenary. It's worth noting that Montoya was named after a character from a gritty vampire action movie, thus making him the odd man out. This is also fitting with his personality- unlike the cold-blooded crooks just in it for the money Montoya has no real desire to be involved with crime and is only doing so out of desperation to provide for his girlfriend.
* Montoya shares his surname with [[ThePrincessBride Inigo Montoya]]. When he is introduced in the present and heard about Silencia guess what he tried to do...
