** [[spoiler: The Twins were assigned to deliver The White Death his Son and his briefcase of cash. Ladybug's mission to retrieve said briefcase and The Twins discovering it missing results in the two of them leaving The Son unattended, giving The Hornet the perfect opportunity to kill him, and the ensuing cat-and-mouse game between Ladybug and The Twins eventually results in him inadvertently screwing over both their individual attempts to off The Prince - Lemon thanks to the sleeping powder in his water bottle (which almost gets him killed), Tangerine when Ladybug himself walks in and stops him (which ''does'' get him killed). ]]
** [[spoiler: The Wolf boards the train looking to get revenge on The Hornet for massacring his wife and family at his wedding - a mission that near-instantly falls apart when he recognizes Ladybug from said massacre and attempts to kill him, which ends in Ladybug killing ''him'' instead by pure accident. ]]
** [[spoiler: The Hornet was hired to kill The White Death's Son, with the briefcase promised as her payment. Ladybug not only unknowingly punches her in the face the one time she attempts to retrieve the briefcase in costume, he unwittingly frees her WeaponOfChoice, The Boomslang, and finds out her identity from The Wolf's photos of her, prompting her to attack him and getting herself killed in the ensuing scuffle when [[HoistByHisOwnPetard he stabs her with her own snake venom.]] ]]
** [[spoiler: The Prince planned to assassinate her own father, The White Death, out of spite for him refusing to acknowledge her. In the middle of manipulating The Father, she callously tosses his phone into a corner of the train - where Ladybug happens to pick it up when The Elder calls it again, casually revealing where his son currently is. This prompts The Elder to intercept the train, where he makes plain to The Prince that she no longer has any leverage over him or his family before usurping the few working parts of her plan to his own advantage and becoming the actual leading threat against the White Death, while she ends up a bitter little footnote in the ensuing final battle between them. ]]
** [[spoiler: Almost all of this ''would'' have been to The White Death's benefit, [[LetsYouAndHimFight just as he had hoped...]] if not for the fact that Ladybug was never supposed to be on the train in the first place - he was merely filling in for one of The White Death's ''actual'' targets, Carver. Ladybug's completely unpredicted involvement in the whole operation, every previous derailment of everyone else's plans included, finally culminates in the deaths of The White Death's finest men, his traitorous daughter, and the mob boss himself, utterly destroying his entire empire.]]

* AdaptationalBadass: Where the book version of the handler does [[spoiler:try and reach the train's terminus to help Ladybird]], she's incredibly bad at it, turning up late due to falling asleep (she had watched all the ''Franchise/StarWars'' films the night before) and then getting on the wrong train. The film version, on the other hand, is shown at the end to have been [[spoiler:traveling unceasingly toward Ladybug]] as soon as she realized something was wrong. While she still arrives late, it's not from any lack of effort on her part.

* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Played with. The snake itself is just an animal. Its venom is used by an assassin, but they go by The Hornet, and don't have a snake theme.
* VillainyFreeVillain: Its just a snake. It hisses at, then later attacks Ladybug, but doesn't have any sinister agenda, its just acting on its instincts.
