* ''Manhua/InfinityGame'': Long Wei set up the game so when somebody dies in the alternative world/game they're returned unharmed in real life. Unfortunately the virus stops this and forces their deaths to be permanent, and as Long Wei had given up his GameMaster status he's unable to change this until he wins the game, where he would gain the title again, and bring them back to life. In the end, the RPG Society are slowly erasing his game world (which causes all of those in his world, alive or dead, to become RetGone[=d=]) and to bring those who died in the game back to life (aka. everybody) he has to have control of the land where they died. He successfully manages to bring his team back to life (and those who died due to the previous DM) but he has to remain in the world until he has 100% control, otherwise the RPG Society will take over and everybody will die again, and he can only bring them back once due to him not having 100% control.

** Happens in the anime movie, ''Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie''. Mewtwo and Mew are duking it out and prepare to use their ultimate attacks when Ash steps in between them to stop the fight, only be hit by the attacks at the same time. He collapses and his body turns to stone. Pikachu tries to revive Ash with his electricity several times, but then realizes that Ash is dead. Pikachu begins to cry and then [[EverybodyCries all the Pokemon and the clones begin to cry as well.]] [[SwissArmyTears The power of the Pokémon tears]] is what brings Ash back to life. However, [[WordOfGod according to Takeshi Shudō]], Ash is only turned to stone, with the Pokémon's tears simply restoring him to normal.

** In ''[[Anime/PokemonLucarioAndTheMysteryOfMew]]'', the human cast end up being "eaten" by the Tree's self defense mechanisms. When Mew sees how sad this makes the Pokémon, it reverses the process, bringing everyone back.

** Subverted and parodied for a third case. [[spoiler:After Akira split Katsuya into HalfTheManHeUsedToBe vertically, Nergo comes out of ChameleonCamouflage and [[BrainTheft bags the head]]. Yanigisawa receives a call for a clandestine meeting and spots Katsuya with a crease down his face… Only to hear Nergo's IHaveManyNames themed CatchPhrase. Nergo uploaded his personality into the reconstructed head in a failed attempt to become a DifferentlyPoweredIndividual. Nergo jokingly declares to be Katsuya out for revenge.]]

* In ''Manga/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess2016'', Ordona revives Link and reattaches his arm after King Bulbin kills him.

** Due to the reincarnation cycle of souls, if living humans die, there's a chance they could crop up later on in the story as ghosts. Also, due to several characters being heavily involved in [[MadScientist highly creative]] [[ForScience scientific endeavour]] based on reiatsu and body experimentation, some characters that died have returned to the story as [[TheUndead undead]] beings. Living humans returning as ghosts include Ginjou, Tsukishima and Giriko. Undead characters resurrected by science include Dordonni, Cirucci, Luppi and Charlotte.
