With a mere 80+ pages including epilogue Material Girl is a rather short and actually finished webcomic dealing with gender and crossdressing. It begins with funny and later plot rears its ugly head and takes over. The style is reminiscent of Calvin and Hobbes and Sinfest, in the beginning, and while the character design remains consistent throughout the run, the author toys and experiments with format, shading and general techniques and grows in the progress.
It might have been nice, if the forced cross-dressing and later acceptance of the changed perceived gender role had been addressed and clarified, but the way it is now one may have to think more and come to their own conclusions.
