So far, I like Grej’s Realicide series. It’s inspired by Jreg and as such it’s difficult to discuss one without the other.
Even though this isn’t how Realicide is advertised, my headcanon is that it’s a sequel to Centricide based on the premise that after Centricide 8, The Extremists became the new mainstream ideologies and the Wackies took their place as extremists resulting in the philosophical superstructures to which said ideologies belong taking their place as the Wackies and seeking to become the new political compass ideologies.
The result is that Communalism, voluntary non-Statist Communism, is the greater philosophy of the anarchists in the Commune in Centricide 6.75.
The Social Darwinist is the ideological superstructure to which Nazi belongs (Darwinism).
Egoism is the philosophy of Individualism of which Objectivist ideas are a subset.
But since the fourth character isn’t Materialism I know that this headcanon is wrong.
Having gotten that off my chest, The Realists are at this juncture rather boring in comparison to the Centrists from Jreg. Though I do find the Anti-Realists to be quite entertaining though I admit I find Jreg to have been funnier.
That said, one advantage Grej has over Jreg is that the former is better at dramatic moments. In Realicide 3, Darwinist’s murders of the homeopath and the Moralist are Played for Drama to a frightening extent and Communal’s transformation into Cult Communalism is pure Nightmare Fuel.
That said, I didn’t like the Take That! of “or America”. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand DonaldTrump but it seemed to me to be mean spirited to call my neighbours to the South a dictatorship.
So all in all, it’s good though not as good as Jreg’s Centricide was though considering each Realicide seems to be an improvement over the next that might change.
