Though not a masterpiece, Hoobadventure (as a love letter to 2D platformers like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Rayman Origins) does have solid gameplay and level design, with tons of collectables that increase the replay value, amazing-looking graphics on par with the games it borrows from, and a good variety in the environments. I recommend it as a way to get you into 2D platformers, and it can be played by both fans and non-fans of Marsupilami. Though it can get pretty repetitive at times, the game does have more than enough good qualities to balance it out, with the best part of the game easily being the epic boss sequences that while not boss fights in the traditional sense (they're more like autoscrolling levels), do have some of the game's most precise platforming and best music. Did I mention its portrayal of dinosaurs is surprisingly scientifically accurate for a cartoony game?
VideoGame A solid experience for both fans and non-fans.
