Seriously, "Batman: Nightwalker" has everything you want in a book that follows a teenage Bruce Wayne in his years before becoming the Dark Knight; it has angst, drama, psychological turmoil, comedy, action, a good mystery, tackles themes themes about duality, justice, the growing divide between the rich and poor, as well as a badass yet sympathetic Alfred at Bruce's side. I especially love how they handled Harvey Dent as Bruce's best friend in high school (makes you feel sorry, knowing what will happen to him later down the road when he transforms into Two-Face), as well as the build-up to the climax of the novel.
