Has quite a bit of angst so far from the opening chapters, but provides an interesting take on a Dark!French Empire!France and something called the 'Insanity', which refers to periods of heavy fighting or tragedy that countries go through. Worth a look, and is quite unlike the few France/Seychelles fics that are out there.

The author has obviously done her research in regards to Japanese culture and historical accuracy. Belle and the Beast's relationship is marvellously developed, and the subject matter is spellbinding.

Can't second the rec. I love France/Seychelles but the writing here is mediocre, the story is all over the place, it has completely out of place bits of Gratuitous Japanese and other languages appear google-translated. Overall it's not a pleasant reading experience.
