As the summary supplied, this story begins with Ichigo arriving rather unwillingly in the world of One Piece due to an accident, and finding himself onboard the ship Thousand Sunny. It is, however, NOT a story about him becoming a pirate, and his wish has always been to search for a way back... which is only derailed by the lost of his Zangetsu sword.
Both Ichigo and Luffy are the main characters in this story, but everyone in the Straw Hat crew gets a chance to shine, with some surprising characters making appearances along the way. But nobody gets lost in the shuffle and the characterization is pitch-perfect.
Also, the writer isn't afraid to split up the main group when it is more appropriate to do so, masterfully moving around the many unique characters from the two worlds between multiple scenes. All of which are wonderfully detailed but never convoluted.
The storyline is extremely well-crafted, and avoids The Stations Of The Canon. A truly original story.
A lot of thoughts are put into portraying the many side characters and subplots as well, but enough care is taken that they never turned into a distraction from the main story.
The Original Characters are all well rounded and believable, serve as devices to move the plot along and never steal the spotlight.
Example of writing:
"He jumped into the water from your ship, I think he wanted to rescue me or something like that…" the orange-haired teen explained, jumping down onto the deck, where he set Luffy down and Chopper worked to remove the water from his lungs, "But I ended up having to rescue him…he's a total hammer, someone needs to teach him to swim."
"That idiot," Nami commented, as Luffy spluttered up the water he'd been digesting.
And:
"Hmmm…You're not from around here, are you?" asked a tall dark-haired woman.
"Uhh…" Ichigo took in their surroundings to see nothing but ocean, "I guess not."
"He fell from the sky and has weird clothes," observed a muscled boy of about Ichigo's height, though with a long nose, "He must be an alien."
"REALLY?" shrieked the reindeer-like creature, now back in his smaller form.
"He must be. He came from the moon."
One of the best crossover I've ever read, and that's not only limited to One Piece and Bleach.
FanficRecs Masterfully crafted, a fanfiction gem.
