FanficRecs Lavanya Six's review
The characterization is the big draw here, obviously. The interplay between Katara, Sokka, and Zuko is entertaining and the author makes their sibling relationship feel real. While it hues closely to canon, there are enough twists that make the alternate episodes interesting. I also find it highly amusing that Zuko is a walking Cartwright Curse.

FanficRecs Black Charizard's review
I want to point out that the author is the same as of In His Shoes, so expect strong characterization here too. At this point the story has caught up to "The Boy in the Iceberg", and it's remarkable that the story still sticks to canon believably despite the radically different circumstances in which Zuko grows up. As a bonus, there are some fanarts of the AU in her userpage.

FanficRecs Aryashi's review
At this pouint, it has become clear that this fic is going to be one of the highlights of the fandom. Characterization, plot, genuine twists, they all add up to one of the best fanfiction I have ever read, period. Please help with the Trope Page after you read!
