The story's basic premise is simple: ghost kids, the victims of Fazbear's tragedy, return to Earth to atone for their sins and end up becoming a new family for Mike Schmidt, a nightguard of the first game. For its usual part, the story is a heartwarming fluff about ghost kids finally being able to live out their lost childhoods; if you sympathized with them in canon FNaF, you truly will enjoy seeing them finally getting their happy ending.
Of course, while the fic is, for the most part, Lighter and Softer than the canon FNaF series, but it's still a FNaF fic, which means it can also get dark. And when it gets dark, it gets DARK. There's the reason why some of the chapters use the content warnings for some of the darker chapters (such as particularly graphic tortures of William Afton—you'd almost feel sorry for him were he not an irredeemable piece of shit—mentions of Abusive Parents, or the family members' Dark and Troubled Pasts).
The story is described in good detail (albeit with some errors and missed words here and there, but eh, everyone makes mistakes), and characterization is pretty good, whether it be Mike Schmidt being a foul-mouthed Deadpan Snarker, Fritz being a reckless goofball, Cassidy being adorable bean, or etc. Of course, there's the issue with some ghosts (like Jeremy and, to a lesser extent, Susie) receiving less focus, but the author did notice that and actually takes steps to rectify this issue; either way, to me, personally, it's not too much of an issue to complain about.
I also would like to make a special mention to the fact that the fanfic has my favorite interpretation of Elizabeth Afton, depicting her as genuinely remorseful and tragic victim of circumstances beyond her control (helps if you follow the interpretation that it was Baby's programming and William Afton's toxic influence that drove her to villainy), as well as one of the most creative reimaginings of Nightmare animatronics, depicting them as actual demons from Hell, and not without colorful personalities to boot. Nightmare and Nightmarionne are particularly a blast to watch...read...whatever.
Of course, as much as I enjoy the fanfic, that doesn't mean I don't have any complaints about it. My primary gripe is with the fact that the story doesn't try to reinforce a definitive timeline, leading to some inconsistencies in it (I actually came up with my own interpretation of the fanfic's definitive timeline), and several continuity errors. Then again, given that I've heard multiple times that the author has quite a number of real-life issues, I'm willing to cut them some slack here.
Despite its flaws with consistent timeline and continuity, I still find it to be a worthy read and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys FNaF, its lore, heartwarming fluff, and the wish to see the ghosts get their happy ending.
Fanfic Really enjoyable!
I stumbled upon this fic on This Very Wiki (thanks, MagnificentBastard.Fan Works page!), and, of course, curiosity got better of me.
