To get things out of the way, Harry becomes a total sociopath over the course of the story and honestly admits that if not for his wives, he'd have jumped off the deep end into cackling megalomania a while ago. Despite what some claim, the story never treats this as a good thing.
In a way, this fic takes cues from both Partially Kissed Hero and Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality in different ways. For the former, the story enjoys tearing down a considerable amount of the fandom. The difference being that it attacks fanon such as Soul Bonds, Magical Cores, helpful goblins, and the idea Snape was mind-raping Harry in Order of the Phoenix, rather than canon. For the latter, Harry loves nothing more than exploring magic and the intricacies of why/how it works. However, his tendency to jump in feet first, believing he knows what he's doing, almost invariably results in things going wrong. This ranges from realizing he never included an off function for the runes aging him faster (and by the time he creates one, he's a 13 year old who's six feet tall and shaves daily) to nearly turning himself into a dementor on accident.
As the story progresses, Harry becomes... let's call a spade a spade. He becomes pretty fucked up. At best, he's a big picture sort of person who acknowledges that people die in a war and you'll have to do morally shady things to win. At worst, he's just a sociopath who only cares about a few people and doesn't care if everyone else dies. Even people who agree with the results hate his methods and are generally only willing to tolerate them because nothing else works. On the one hand, he does legitimately do everything he can think of to save humanity from an inevitable social collapse. On the other hand, when that fails, he decides the best option is to use magical EMPs to destroy almost all technology and force a hard reset on society.
In all honesty, once Voldemort returns, read the story as Black-and-Gray Morality and it makes for an interesting read. But if you want an actually heroic Harry, go somewhere else.
Fanfic It's certainly something
