I'm no stranger to "darker" or "realistic" fics. This one just isn't that good.
First issue: the reaction to Izuku's quirk. Many are distrusting of Izuku's quirk because it's a "Dark Quirk", with Aldera overlooking Bakugo's bullying because of it. But what constitutes a "Dark" Quirk? With "Cursed Blood", its sorta understandable since its necromancy, but why is "Dark Shadow" called one? It's just a living shadow. Why isn't Vlad's called one? His is blood manipulation. And why is necromancy treated horribly? This setting has so many abilities that can be called monstrous, yet the ability to revive the dead is met with scorn. Even the people revived are treated as less than human, with Uraraka referring to Tsuyu as a "Reanimated Corpse".
Canon!Ochako may be a Hero for money, but its to help her parents, and her feelings for Izuku are genuine. Here though it's cause she's also a Gold Digger, and treats the zombie girls horribly
Canon!Iida is earnest to a fault and usually seeks to help, the one time he let his issues get the best of him being with Stain. Here, he's driven by nothing but his issues, even seeming more focused on progressing his career to the point of manipulation and deceit.
Canon!Mineta, while The Scrappy, is just a generic pervert whose comedy falls flat. Here, he's a flat out attempted rapist.
Canon!Todoroki had a legitimate trauma born as a result of his abuse, and was shown to be a genuinely kind person aside from it. Here, he's turned into It's All About Me, he is noted to act more like Endeavor, and his issues are treated as "First World Problems" since it wasn't as bad as what the zombie girls went through, as if trauma can in any way be quantified.
Half the characters can pretty much be called In Name Only. And that's not even getting into how corrupt and awful UA is here.
Third issue: the ZLS altered origins. The Zombie girls all have much darker backstories here, Tae's now being a former slave, And Lily's being prostituted by a wicked stepmother, and both being rape victims that got killed in the process. It feels needlessly cruel and dark for the sake of being dark.
Fourth Issue: reactions to zombies. ZLS treats the moments of people reacting to Zombies as comedy, as people just being surprised and scared. It doesn't work here though because people have interacted with the zombie girls, both when they were alive and revived, and yet they're treated differently just cause they were revived.
It doesn't work however because of the material its mixing. It's trying to be dark using the themes of Zombies, but it doesn't work because its ZLS, which isn't that. MHA can get away with being dark because of its setting, and darker stories can be told from that. So by mixing a work that wasn't meant to be dark with something that can be dark but is still light overall into something dark, it doesn't work.
This fic just becomes dumber with age. Do yourself a favor and skip this.
