Ah, MST, one of the most well known terms within the fanfic community, especially for those who spend time around the So Bad, It's Good fanfics. My main problem with many of them are that most just cause me some cheap laughs, the main problem being that most of them boiled down to, "Author, you're a complete dumbass!", pulling in "Guest stars" who really feel like they're just in to provide a bunch of references and show that the author can type names, and other such problems.
Then I discovered A Wild Badfic Appeared, and decided to give it a chance. I was glad I did. Unlike most other examples of an MST, this actually remembers that it's meant to commenting on a So Bad, It's Good fanfic, and so, it's reactions are more having a good laugh at the Accidental Innuendo that happens, the over the top imagery that occurs, and examples of Artistic Licence. And another improvement is that the guest characters actually act like the characters. Robin acts like an actual medieval character, Mega Man acts like a little boy, and other such things that are actually like the characters. Also, I love the personality given to X(I know it is Calem in the MST, as it is his default name, but I like to call him X), and find him to be my personal Ensemble Darkhorse for this series.
Personally, I hope this series becomes known, and I especially think it should be the yardstick with which to judge an MST with, since this is just brilliantly excellent. My hat goes off to you, Erika The Reindeer.
Fanfic Definitely within the worthwhile 10% of the MST genre
