You have seen the Avengers fight against the God of Mischief. Against alien armadas. Against a killer robot of indestructible metal. Against other Avengers, for... reasons. Against the X-Men for... other reasons. Against a time-traveler conqueror from the future, with high pink boots. Now, assemble to watch the Avengers fight against their most implacable foe, ever: Rob Liefeld!
In the 90s, before Kurt Busiek, the Avengers had a horrible art, a crappy leadership, guys with motivations that nobody cares about, beloved characters turned into weird monsters, and beloved characters redefined beyond recognition. Marvel fixed this by killing them all and sending then to another universe, giving the reins of the franchise to a useless brat with complete freedom to recreate the team from scratch. And he does so... with horrible art, a crappy leadership, guys with motivations that nobody cares about, beloved characters turned into weird monsters, and beloved characters redefined beyond recognition. His work is so great, that he can't even finish the 12 scheduled issues, and poor Walt Simonson is forced to try to close it and make it all make some sense. And finally, it is all revealed to be part of Loki's master plan to... become Godzilla?
Tony Stark: Not a great plan.
Starring: The Winter captain. Thor the Barbarian. Thor the noble savage. A Japanese stereotype. Hawkeye dressed like a brown plantman. Deathcry 1/2.0. Heroes Re-killed.
So, that Thor was fake, and the second Thor is the "real" Thor. I get it. But then, how come the fake Thor remembers Onslaught?
