I\\\'ve heard some pretty wacky guesses as to how Kanade/Angel could have been an established student of purgatory before [[spoiler:Otonashi entered]]. The most common I\\\'ve seen is that the place is \\\"situated out of time\\\" and for that reason, characters that should have died long after others can somehow arrive first. Personally, I figure its got to do with the fact that [[spoiler:Otonashi]] simply din\\\'t qualify for the place - he has no reason to be in it, and thus the only reason he ended up there is that he \\\"wandered in\\\". Hence, post death, he likely was left \\\"wandering\\\" for quiet a long period of time before he stumbled into purgatory, which would explain how [[spoiler:Angel got there before him]].
Just wanted to know what other folks thought of it after having watched the series - some hidden explanation buried somewhere in the 13 24 minute episodes, or just an overlooked plothole? Or might it be that the crew behind Angel Beats realized the plothole, but just din\\\'t bother fixing it for [[RuleOfDrama the sake of the story]]?
